Shorts on here too now Frank.I had to do something about my legs first though :-S.That's the only trouble with summer, keeping smooth legs.

I hope Matteo's poorly eyes clear soon Fiona. That will be miserable for him poor little soul.Sorry you might have rain .It's scorching here :-D.Chris is doing something on the big high raised bed down the garden, and I have just got some lunch ready to take out. It's all ready to just carry out to the table.French bread,Tomato,Mozzarella and Basil,Pate, other cheeses,Cucumber, radish, and Artichokes in herb dressing.(not sure if I will like them but will give it a go.)

Frank sounds like you are going to have a good time at your old neighbours.Nice of him to pop round .I bet Ros and the girls will be busy enjoying themselves in this fine weather.Just the perfect place to be today.

Mel I can just imagine how lovely your lawns look now :-D.It must take ages to get them done..
I think I need to put a load of washing in the machine.I see the basket is full again :-S

Oh is out mowing too Frank. He comes dowon for a coffee now and then and a little sit down. He has them looking great at the mo. Last year he bought some expensive weed killer as we had heards of buttercups ad daisys in the west lawn but only a very few daisy this year so it was worth the money.

I have done one lot of washing which is out on the line and some hand washing of the window clothes as he dos'nt like comfort in those. Now another lot is wshing away as I type.

A really glorious day here that makes you glad to be alive.

Hope Ros and Co have a safe journey home.

Fiona poor little Matteo. I bet he wiggles when your dau tries to put those eye drops in but these things usually clear up pretty quickly with babies. Hope he is on the mend soon.

A princess castle cake. How lovely.

Don't talk daft Fiona, Jane couldn't be good if she tried. !!!

Have been in the garden and mowed both lawns, haven't done the edges this time, next time will be fine

Had a knock on the door, it was our old, young neighbour., called to see if we were alright, when I told him Ros was away for the weekend, he said well come round to our house about TWO for a few beers and a BBQ.. After being up and down the lawns, I feel I've done enough walking, so have called off going round the park this afternoon with Carolyn, which she is quite happy about.

I can now sit in Jonathans garden, and enjoy the sunshine.

Tried to ring Madam, to see when she might grace my presence with her company :-D :-D :-D But goes straight to answer phone, so does Jan's. I don't have Jo's number, so rang Conrad, he is going to ring one of them and get Ros to call me, what a merry go round !!! I bet she won't want to come home

Wall to wall sunshine, with a slight breeze. I'm down to my shorts, and going to sit in the sun lounger with my book for an hour. WHAT A HARD LIFE. I would never be able to find the time to do a full time job. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning Everyone, Evening Kim

Had a bit of a rest of the computer yesterday, only spent about 20 mins on as I think my head has started to flare up again, will give it a few days to see how it goes , then if I need to will ring the hospital.

Had a lovely afternoon with the family yesterday, it being daughter no 2 26th birthday
Sofia decided daughters cake was to be a princess castle, daughter agreed, so I managed to get one from Morr**sons, so daughter & Sofia put the candles on.
Matteo in a better mood than last week even though the poor little one has had conjunctivitis since last Thursday, daughter took him to the drs and got some eye drops,He's not liking them at all it's a bit of a struggle to get them in but I think some of it is going in, dr says it will go on it's own,

wow it was warm here yesterday but cloudy, so it felt very close,OH away on his bike, looks like it might rain, I hope not got washing on the line.

Jane , sorry you have got a sore eye too, are you beinging a good girl and putting your drops in. :-D :-D

Morning Frank Jane and All and Evening Kim,

Beautiful day here too but we still have light cloud in the sky.

Put the camera out last night and got some nice shots of a hedgehog eating the food I put out and rooting around for the dried food I scattered.

Nothing planned for today will just go with the flow. Oh is sure to find something for me to do when I want to do something else! :-|

Have you seen anything on the news about the speedboat accident just outside Padstow?? Killed two, father and daugter and badly injured the others?

Jane

Jane Report 6 May 2013 10:00

Morning/Evening All
Frank ,I wonder what Ros would think of you staggering home after all that Red !!!!!.Or are your lips sealed ;-)
I'm going be kind to everything today except for some weeds.Chris got an electric weeder,so I will have a go and see how it works on the weeds in the cracks of the paving slabs.

It feels like a lovely summers day.If it stayed this temperature all day it would suit me just fine, but it's going to hot up soon. Then that will be me done .

Ann we are shutting the window at the moment at night ,but I hate it.I seem to think around 4am is bad for pollen..I have no idea why I think at.It might be from the days when Hannah suffered really badly with Hay F.If she slept with her window open she would always wake with dreadful coughing around that time and a bit wheezy. But when the windows were shut she was ok.
I'm not surprised you haven't heard the other dog.I think generally Staffies are not barky dogs. They are quiet and gentle on the whole.

Right I'm off to get a few bits and bobs.BBL

Oh what a beautiful morning, I'. full of the SPRING feeling.

Woke at 6 am lain for an hour, got up, showered, and made tea. Have been round the "ESTATE" checked the greenhouse (some little bugger has had one of my Cucumber plants) still I have NINETEEN MORE.

Feed and watered the birds, they are having a right ding dong, getting the best place.

John is taking one of his Engines to the model railway track today. I say model, but they can pull up to 20 people around the park. Carolyn said she would ring me ater 2.00 pm to see if I would like to go for an hour. With the ewather like this I think I will say YES !!!

Don't know yet what time Ros will be home, or if she will want a meal. Will ring later (SHE WON'T BE UP YET:) !! to see what they are doing today.!

Had a right job getting on here this morning. Kept telling me there was no internet connection.

Morning DR. DEATH. What do you plan to KILL today ???? apart from me !!!
Told you. you won't live this down.

I bet William is busy getting breakfast before getting Carmel ready for a nice day out somewhere or other. Enjoy.!!

Mel, I thought of cleaning the windows outside, but it involves STEPS, so I will leave it till madam is around.

I'm off to get my breakfast whatever that is, don't fancy much.

Frank I am so glad you enjyed yourself at Carolyn and John's. How lovely to have a roast beef dinner and stilton to follow. You lucky boy.

Oh pessure washed hald the bungalow this afternoon and then cleaned the windows for me in the kitchen inside and out but forgot the back door! Never mind I can reach that ok.

Jane I thought I was bad enough with jars of stuff in my fridge but one best before 2007 has beaten me by a mile and a half!!

Frank

Frank Report 5 May 2013 21:28

Well I'm still here,

Carolyn came round to see how I was at 3.00 pm. Said what about dinner ?? why not come to us, you have feed John and I before. O.K. says I, here's a bottle of RED to start the evening off, I'll be round about 5.00 pm.

John has the most fabulous train set in his basement that I have ever seen. I had to go down a very steep staircase, with treads only about 18 inches wide to get down there. It's what they call an "N" gauge, Very tiny rails, set up on a massive table, with lights everywhere. Sidings, villages, farms, allotments, pig farms, coal mines, gardens, you name it. It's got it. He's got loads of trains of every description, with more rolling stock than British Railways.!!!

We then went up and started on the RED, two bottles later, Roast beef and all the trimmings arrived, together with another bottle of RED. After dinner John and I started on a block of Stilton, which I must say went down a treat with the forth bottle of RED. I left at 7.45 pm. to stagger home, Carolyn wanted to see me home, but I managed on my own.

Now in dressing gown and trying to watch "Endeavor" if I can stay awake.

Had a wonderful evening, tomorrow's another day.

Good night all.

Annx Report 5 May 2013 21:09

Jane, I keep wondering whether to leave the bedroom window closed to stop the pollen coming in!! We have our yapping friend instead of the birds. I have only just discovered that the neighbour 3 doors along on our side has a dog, a staffy type. They moved in 3 years ago, so their dog obviously doesn't bark much at all. They have the lovely front garden which is a mass of pansies at the moment.

We are thinking at the moment that we may brave the crowds and go to a craft fair at Caulke Abbey near Derby tomorrow. Otherwise I'll be mixing weedkiller to put on some Arum lilies that are poking through the slate chippings at the bottom of the garden. I've tried digging them up, but I think the roots are heading for Australia.

An early night for me now, so night night everyone. x

Jane Report 5 May 2013 20:51

Ann ,it is sad that villages that were are no longer. Some just become enveloped by the extended building outwards from towns and cities. It's a real shame.

We are fed ,watered and tired.Chris has already gone up to bed.I think to read..but bet he is snoring his head off now lol
Now decisions.Do I leave the bedroom window open tonight so it's not too warm .Or do I shut it so not to be woken by the Bird Song again?????...I think it might be a shut widow. The thought of being woken again at 4am is just too much :-S

Had a clear out of jars from the fridge earlier.....I found one right at the back with a sell by date..2007 :-0 :-0 :-0..How bad is that??? Shame on me :-S :-S

Where is William?? Hope all is well

Shutting down now for the night .NightNight xx

Annx Report 5 May 2013 16:45

Afternoon Everyone. :-)

I see Frank is back with us again............I hope he isn't taking any chances in the garden and that he keeps a phone with him like Mandy says.

I have started on hayfever tablets now too. We've a lot to get done this week before we are away so I need to feel a bit more lively! :-) At least my shoulderblade feels a lot better again.

We were only saying last week how healthy the M*rrisons plants looked and cheap too. We went to one of the Garden Club garden centres today as I had some of the money vouchers they send to spend. We've decided to give up on the Golden Escallonia we bought as it has a fungal black spot disease. Apparently it is a new problem and has swept the country and is very, very difficult to treat with anything you can buy since all the change with garden chemicals that are allowed. I bought a really tough seaside evergreen shrub that will tolerate pruning and has an upright growth, Griselina, it's called and has cream variagation on the leaves. We'll see how that does!! I'm trying to screen off the 'veg' side of the garden a bit more with shrubs.

I'm boiling now after pricking out french marigold seedlings and lettuce seedlings. Then I planted out the tomatoes and cucumber in the greenhouse and watered bits and bobs. I'm glad I didn't pick up the watering can OH used as there was a pongy dead mouse in it.

OH has got the cases down from the loft today, he only has a great big wheeled case, whereas I have several in different sizes, so he uses one of mine, but always tries to say it's his! I think once he borrows something it becomes 'his' in his head. I never mind what he uses of mine, but if he thinks it's his he won't take such good care of it and will be swinging it off the ground with the long handle!! I've just let him have one of my older pocket cameras. I did buy him one the same, but after he used it about 3 times, the zoom started to stick and it was ruined.......I'm not sure how that happened?????!!!!! :-S

I was looking at 1911census on A*cestry last night........they have uncovered the last column about infirmities and there is also a 1911 old map of the area where the rellie lived. It was a bit horrifying how so many villages have grown. Some we now know as areas outside the centre of main towns were once villages with lots of fields between them and the main nearby town. Most places seemed to have a smithy and there were lots of windmills. Quite interesting to see what was around then in areas you know.

Mandy I think the canopy is past the stage of trying to clean really. It have been folded up all winter, but maybe now it is up the sun (when we have it) might bleach it a bit.

I will tell Chris what you said about a Multi Burner. We haven't even started looking yet.

I just called my old primary teacher to wish her Happy Birthday.....It's not today,it's Tuesday, and she isn't 93 ,but 94!!!..She sounds in fine fettle but is now loosing her sight and is pretty housebound unless someone takes her out....We had a laugh about my sewing in Primary School...She still remembers how bad I was :-S :-S and the skirt I made (I'll say no more)....S he was a family friend and a wonderful friend to Mum when Mum had Dementia. She still sounds like my teacher lol

MillymollyAmanda Report 5 May 2013 15:27

Frank it would be funny if Carolyn turned up with a dinner for you just as you sit down with your steak !! :-D

That's a bargain on the geraniums ,you won't be wasting to much money then Jane if you kill them off :-D :-D i might have a look at getting some of them too.
Hubby's just home so much for only working the morning !!
I've sowed some flower seeds in the garden ,the Poached Egg and the Godetia ,now will have to remember where i've sown them when i weed !!

Jane, don't you want to keep your coal bunker ? you can get a Multi Fuel wood burner? i think that's what we're having a Multi fuel, you can still use coal in it as well as the wood and you can bank it up with coal when you go out .

Feet up now for a while and then it's Ham ,Egg and chips for us tonight .

Just finished doing the spuds and veg.Walked down he garden with the peelings to the compost wearing my prescription varifocal sunglasses.I still can't get to grips walking in them.I looked like I was doing the 'Ministry of silly walks ' :-S
My normal glasses are fine now but these I find the ground still comes up to meet me,and am taking big steps and doing a wobble lol
We have just put the canopy up on the Gazebo and it is really disgusting. :-S.It has large patches of mould which I know can't be got rid of as I tried once before with bleach.
Chris is mowing the lawn .I put a sleeveless top on and the sun went in :-|Probably the shock of my Bingo wings. :-(.I must start weight lifting :-D)

I missed BGT last night as I was gassing with Frank so must see if I can watch it on catch up.
One week today and Janice will be here :-D.We will be like 2 silly school girls going off on our trip.Chris is wondering if we will be safe let loose in France !!!.He will probably write 2 labels to hang around our necks with home address on ;-)
If found please return to...... We have been on holiday together abroad before but as families ...never just the two of us :-D.We will show the men we are quite capable of looking after ourselves :-D :-D :-D(I hope)

Frank....I won't be talking to you soon :-| :-| ;-)...I just bought some Geranium plants at Morris***.I never go there but my neighbour said to get the plants there.Bargain 12 plants for £3 :-D..I got them home as fast as I could and handed them over to the kind person who never kills plants :-D :-D.I didn't touch them lol

The sun is trying very hard to stay out but the flipping clouds keep hiding it.It's warming up nicely too now.
Frank ask Ros where near Plymouth they went please.I'd love to know.

Car finished yet Mel ??? It will think it is it's Birthday :-D.That will be a job done then for the next 12 months lol.

Mandy have you got your feet up yet? I cleaned a couple of windows and the glass in some picture frames at about 7.Then cooked the Joint of Beef for later. It is all sliced and sat in a load of juicy gravy just needing to be heated up.So it's just the Potatoes and veg to do.I don't think I will do much at all this afternoon, just sit out and read I reckon.

Anyone want a Coal Bunker? One of those big plastic ones.We are going to be doing away with ours and looking into having a Wood Burner in the lounge instead of the open fire.

Time for lunch now. I have had real trouble with the internet this morning. It keeps saying I am not connected :-S :-S

Frank

Frank Report 5 May 2013 12:15

Well, I thought I had got back on again with no trouble, Who do I think I'm kidding, half way through a post and GOT WIPED OUT !! Try Try again !!!

I heard from Ros this morning, they have wall to wall sunshine down there again today. I have CLOUD, but I think it looks like trying to brighten and the air looks still.

Haven't heard from Carolyn regarding dinner today, so I have got myself a nice steak out of the freezer, which I will have tonight with all the trimmings. Will make a nice change from Roast.

I have promised Ros. I won't do any work outside till she's back. She is frightened I will fall over, and won't be able to get up or make anyone hear (Like down the Canal last February). So I have put a clean pair of slacks and clean shirt on, If it brightens up I will take the paper and ebook into the garden and listen to the football, two matches on this afternoon.

Don't overdo things in the gardens folks, be like me LAZY BONES"

How's Dr DEATH doing. Murdered anymore little plants ???? :-D :-D :-D

There was a chap on the tele this morning talking about hay fever ,he said the Birch tree is one of the worst for pollen ,and that this year’s birch season has started two weeks earlier than usual :-S
