Thanks for that Mel, i did wonder if i could just put it in a big pot . What a shame you didn't get he chance to mark him Mel, it would have been nice to see if he stayed with you .
Ann, the green house isn't very big and it just a polythene covered one but i'am going to fill it with as much as i can :-D i can get a grow bag each side and room for pots across the back and one side has three shelves which i can take out as needed . Son saw mine and thought he would get one , he bought his from Morris*ns ,he thought it would be nice for the children to plant some bits and watch them grow .
Sounds as if Jane is having a good time ,i wonder if she got any photo's .
Oh Fiona , i hope your ok now after your fall ,it shakes you up a bit when you go down like that , those old cobbles can be really slippery when wet ,we have them on Norwich and i try not to walk on them as they are so uneven .
We both go on well at the dentist ,no work needed just a clean each :-D
The sky keeps going over really black here and i'm not sure but i think i saw some lightening !!

The exhibition sounds good Jane, but I wouldn't have enjoyed the heat or the crowds. :-S I hope you enjoy your meal with H&J and that your feet find their second wind after your rest.
That sounded a nasty fall Fiona, cobbles are very hard and can be rough. It sounds like your jeans protected it quite a bit so it was lucky you had them on but I bet you will have a handsome bruise.
I have been to the pond place and ended up with a new pump as well as pipe!! We decided that the old pump wasn't as powerful as we needed and this one is still small enough to fit in the pebble pool. The trouble is I now have to scrape back the chippings and shift some of the rocks to dig a channel for the new wider pipe! It means digging up some of the plants as well. I hope the improvement will be worth it. :-)I came home via a little place called Higham-on-the-Hill (William will know it.) to miss the A5 rush hour chaos. As I was on my own I was able to stop and get a pic of the pretty Methodist church there......will send it on.
I tried a tiny bit of the fence paint this morning, but it will be going back as it doesn't dry to the colour on the tin and we don't like it!! :-S OH is out at a meeting so I need to sort out my wool and pins now for the knitted bags tomorrow. :-)

Thank you all for your e-mails. I haven't been using the PC since I got home,it's in a different room to where my bed is,a long trek by walking frame. I haven't been 100% but it's better lying in my own bed than a hospital ward. To reiterate Iv.e marde a right RRRs of my left leg.Particularly the tibia plateau. Iv'e seen the X rays,The plateau is in 6 pieces like dice bolted and screwed together. Then there's 3 bolts in the descending tibid. Any one else might have just twisted their ankle,or better still used the gate.

Glad Jane is enjoying her day, lucky her to get nice weather, It's a bit sunny here but it goes behind the clouds very quick and then we have a shower of rain, had to run out and bring the washing in.
While I was in town this morning it was raining and I was walking on a part of one of the old streets in Hamilton that still have cobbled stones it is also on a slope and unfortunately the ground was very wet and I slipped landing on my left knee, ,ouch :-0 a man & woman came and helped me up, I went straight into As*a to the toilets and checked my knee and I have skinned it, luckily it had not gone through my tights or my jeans, but I did manage to finish my shopping and phoned OH to come and pick me up, got a sticking plaster on it and it's fine now.

Was going up the tunnel this afternoon but oh had lit a bonfire and it was smoking across the garden and would have been smelly in the tunnel.

Afternoon all from a very hot and sticky London. We are having a drink outside the British Library. Meeting Hannah in an hour and 15 mins.Im wondering if my fewer will carry me the short distance lol I think they are a bit bigger than when I started out this morning :(
The Exhibition was brilliant.amazing to see what survived and also some very moving things like the whole family found together Mother Father and 2 children.one of the children on the lap of the mother. Just all frozen in time I am so pleased that Hannah got us the tickets Only downside was the number of people and heat.Numbers going in were at 10 minute intervals.
I'm going chill abut now and cool down and enjoy the drink.Bye Bye for now.

Afternoon All,
Another glorious day, you can almost see the hedges growing day by day. It was showing 21 degrees in the car this morning.
I see Jane is on her way.......hope she took some plasters for her toe.....just in case!. Look forward to hearing how the exhibition was.
Mandy, I grew a green pepper last year, straight in the soil in the greenhouse and it did really well and had lots of peppers.....BUT...... something else was eating the peppers before they were ready. :-S I must look up the pests they get if I try again this year. Mel's suggestion of putting them in pots sounds good as you could raise them off the ground where it is warmer. How big is your greenhouse and is it plastic glass or one of the polythene covered ones?
I planted the new Rhododendron in the big pot this morning, then planted the dwarf shrub I got yesterday, plus a few more plants in pots. OH moved the rest of the gravel into place, which did him in!! We got a surprise then when we looked in the tiny, tiny circular pool (puddle) we put at the top of the garden.........at least 2 newts (smooth ones) have moved in and were hanging in the water catching the sun. I have had to fix a stick to the side to help them climb out, although I think they could probably climb the straight sides. We used to get them in the pond here before and there were loads of them in the bigger pond at my previous house.
Mel, I would probably dabbed a tiny bit of emulsion on his spines, what a shame you won't know if it's him on camera.
Did anyone watch the new bear programme last night? We thought it was really good and a bit different to the usual bear programmes. I think the final part of it will be next week.
Frank your cues would go with my small toms!! lol. They were the only ones I could find that were the right variety.
Must shoot off to the pond place now.........they were closed yesterday.
I see they have rearrested Freddie Starr.

Well I have been busy again. Used the back of my rake to smash down all the lumps of soil. and raked it over, getting there slowly. I have also repaired a hanging thingy that hooks on the garage wall, Ros puts plants in it, it gives a bit of colour to the blank wall.
Mandy, you are starting to get cheeky !!! My cue plants are almost 2 inches high at the moment, I must keep my eye on them, I don't want them to get "leggy" We have grown peppers before as my Photo showed last year of the greenhouse with all the tomato plants. This years Tom plants are coming along well I have given them one feed, they seem to like it. !!
Nice easy dinner tonight, Chicken casserole with plenty of carrots, onions, tined tomato's mushrooms. with Mash
What a beautiful day it has been so far, the forecast was suppose to be rain. Just shows how much they know :-P :-P :-P

Mandy I was going to paint a bit of nail varnish on the top of him just behind his head so I would know which was him BUT I could'nt find any as it is years since I used it and then oh said to let him into the garden before I could buy some!! Men.......... :-|
As to your sweet pepper plant. If you have a nice BIG flowerpot about 12" across the top, put multi purous (sp) compost in it and plant it in that. Leave about and inch and a half in the top of the pot so you can get a good amount of water in it and again feed it once a week with tom fertilizer.

Morning everyone, Evening Kim,
Today should be warmer than yesterday so they say ,but there's cloud about and when i went to hang my washing out it was raining !!
I hope Jane enjoys her day , perhaps you should have taken one of those mini suit cases on wheels Jane for all the bits you have taken with you :-D :-D
Dentist for us both today ,just a check up , fingers crossed we don't need any work doing :-S
Frank, big isn't always the best ;-) ;-) :-D Thought you would have stayed and served up tea for the stitchers :-D
I bought a sweet Pepper plant too yesterday ,any one grown one ? and any tips on growing them .
Mel , there was a bit on our news about Hedge hogs ,they were releasing some and had stuck tags on their prickles with super glue so they could keeps track of them and spot them if they came back ,perhaps you should have done that to Hog wart then you would know if its him back in your garden again .

Morning All and Evening Kim,
Moisty dull day here but not too cold.
Jane will be well on her way by now. I spoke to her on the phone last night and she said she may pop in in the morning early but would'nt be home till about 9pm. I told her to have a nice day and I am sure she will. She was really looking forward to it. :-D
Put my camera out last night and food in the bowl this time. Got nothing on camera but the bowl was empty this morning. I may have been the mizzle we had last night so it could'nt detect anything.
I went out for a ciggy at about 11.30pm and did'nt turn the light on but thought I could see a shape on the grass. Turned the light on and there was a hedgehog on the side of the grass by the small wall, it turned and headed back down the garden so I turned the light off to lett it go about it's business. Sticks were down from the hedgehog box.

Morning all/Evening Kim,
JANE, will be well on her way now, I was going to say "there is a weight limit for bags on British Rail " lol lol. I almost rupture myself lifting Ros's.
Pat Please keep in touch, we will miss you popping in. How is Mocha mow he is on his own ??
Mandy. I think you have done the right thing getting your cue from the garden centre, I'm not sure what mine would be like after travelling in the post And mine are still very small. (NO COMMENT)
Seems a nice day out there. I tried to rake down my patch yesterday, but had to give up. My arms and shoulders were giving me jip.
Ros had a friend coming this afternoon, to help her with some stitching, so I might make myself scarce.
Enjoy you day folks.

Hi Jane , hope you enjoy your trip to London, I hope the feet bare up :-D
On here earlier than usual today, have to go into town as I have a couple of bills to pay, was thinking of leaving it till tomorrow as I am back down to the dentist at 11. but thought it would be best to go today in case I get stuck in a queue in the bank, and then I would be panicking about my dentist appointment, anyway it means I can walk around at my leisure as tomorrow I will be feeling lousy after my filling.
weather dull and raining, :-(

Evening All,
Well, I only went in the garden today to open the greenhouse this morning and we've been out all day since. I thought it would be a good idea to give the aches chance to recover!! We went out for the favourite carvery for lunch and read the papers, then we went to Hinckley to B*Q and got a large tin of fence paint and a little shrub I didn't know. It's called Phy???? and has large pink heatherlike flowers. We got 10% off as it is over 60s discount today. Then we went to the stationers to look at stacking trays for OH's paperwork, then on to an aquatic place for some plastic pipe and then called in MIL's.
I hope your daughter is successful Fiona. It's a good sign if she thought it went ok. It is Go*dards silver dip that I use......I think mine must be in the garage from when I emptied the kitchen to be refitted!!
What a shame you had to re-home Max Pat. I bet you will miss him, but he did sound like a strong character. Will you consider getting another or let Mocha just have the place to himself. ;-) Sorry you are in the middle of family jealousies, it must be difficult and upsetting for you. It would be a sad time anyway thinking about the grandson you lost.
I watched the final of the sewing programme and it really made me wish I'd watched the earlier ones. Wasn't the 81 year old who won it brilliant. The dress she made was beautiful. It just shows what you can do whatever your age if in reasonable health.
It sounds like you are all set now Mandy with tomatoes and cues! :-D If your green house is big enough to get inside, you will find it lovely and cosy on chilly mornings. :-) I shall be in mine tomorrow morning with my cuppa. :-)
Those flowers near the castle are lovely aren't they William. I love some of the old almshouse buildings, will see if I can take a pic of some near here.
I hope and am sure you will have a lovely time tomorrow Jane. I hope that toe doesn't play up........I find men tend to walk so fast which doesn't help!! :-| It sounds like Hannah has found another interesting place for a meal. Looking forward to hearing what the exhibition was like. :-)
Any news on the Warts Mel??
Off to bed now, I want to crack on with jobs in the morning, although we had a bit of rain at teatime......nightie night......sleep tight.

Pat , i wondered if you might have to rehome Max, what a shame though that they didn't get on together ,perhaps he will be happier now on his own. I hope you can sort things on the family front and drop in back with us soon ,take care . <3
Thanks William for the photo's , i can see why you enjoyed the trip out with gardens like that to look at , lovely splash of colour .
Jane, yes that's one firm we talked about , hubby said don't take the first price they offer you though , they always start off high but they will come down , you have to haggle with them Will PM you the firm hubby uses in Norwich .

Fiona,I'll keep fingers crossed your daughter has a good outcome from her interview.
William lovely photos thank you.
I have just been shifting bits from my handbag to my new one for tomorrows trip to London. Our time slot for the Pompeii Exhibition is 12 noon. The train from Kettering is 9.30 am (so not too an early start :-D)Coming home we leave London at 8 so it is going to be a long day.Hannah has booked somewhere called the Caravan at Kings Cross for a meal about 5.30. The joint on my big toe is a killer at the moment so I don't know how my feet are going to hold out :-S.Plenty of Paracetamol and Ibuprofen in my bag :-D I must charge my camera up in case I can get any pics at the Museum. Not sure it is allowed though.
LOL William I agree with you on the subject of Far*s.It always make people laugh.I wonder why.Maybe it's because it is a funny noise coming from that particular private bit of the body.Burps don't cause laughter do they.
Mandy you know I was asking you about Window People. Was the one you mentioned based in Norwich called Zenit*?.I have a feeling it was.I have made an appointment for someone to come here on the 30th.
No rain so far here today

Frank, gardening? - rain stopped play! I just went out to see if last years fuchsias had over-wintered snugged up in my little plastic lean-to greenhouse. Nope, all look dead as door nails :-( I did manage to cut the lawn, what there was of it, after tea last night. I thought a bit of rain would do everywhere good but it doesn't look like it's coming to much. By the way, great emails today Frank - how come fart jokes always make us laugh?
I was pleased that my off the cuff St George's Day toast went down so well. Had thanks from as far away as Australia. I think there must still be a few cells working in the old grey matter after all ;-)
Just going to catch up on last nights The Syndicate on IPlayer. C Y A L
