Afternoon all
Been out for coffee with the girls and had a good chatter now it's time to catch up with the ironing etc, not a job I like doing, sun has finely managed to get out better enjoy it while we can, as there is to be some very heavy rain and cold coming our way at the end of the week.
daughter no 2 had a good interview yesterday at the Jewellery shop, We won't know what the outcome will be till next Monday. Here's hoping it's good news
better go and do the ironing or I will find something else to do instead,

Afternoon All,
Lazy boy today, was awake at 5.15 got up 6.30. Had Eggs on toast with Bacon, and loads of tea before 9.00. Showered and shaved and back into dressing gown. Will get dressed when I'm finished here.
Poor you Pat. Families can be an absolute pain in the rear. I am at the stage in life that I don't need the hassle, I haven't spoken to my brother or children for years. and believe me I DON'T MISS THEM. They lead their lives and I lead mine.!!!
What a change in the weather, this morning first thing, it was bright sunshine, but now the clouds have taken over and the breeze is getting up. Ros will be pleased as she has just put out a line of sheets and pillow cases. Should dry quickly in the wind.
Nothing planned for today, I expect Ros will pop and get the odds and sods we need.
There are some FAT thingies in TESC#S for the birds. from the RSPCA The birds are getting through them like wild fire. I put two out Monday afternoon, and there is only half of one left.
Spag Bol for dinner tonight, I prepared the onions and mushrooms earlier, added the garlic (two cloves ) with fry the mince off later and add tomato's and other bits.
Don't over do it this afternoon in the garden girls/William.
See you later..

Pat,my Sister is having the jealousy thing with her 2,it's all to do with the Grandchildren. One has more attention than the others etc,and Janice feels like pulling her hair out at times.I think sometimes she just wants to bang their heads together. This is partly why I think it will do her good to get away and not be there at everyones beck and call and like you 'in the middle'. Chin Up Gal :-D

Morning All and evening Kim.
Have had a busy weekend ... Sat morning we had to rehome Max...He has gone to another home where he is the only dog..He will be seeing the ladys partners spaniel at weekends only ,But he bought his own female spaniel to see him as well. Daughter came down with her family for the weekend as we were off to Stevenage the next day Sunday to see my eldest sons daughter perform in her acting and dancing show. Also that day would have been my grandson from my youngest sons 10 birthday so I let a balloon of for him here..
Usually we are with the rest of the family at the grave doing this... My granddaughter Molly who came down was 11 on the Monday so the show was atreat for her as well...
take care all of you as family jealousies seem to have risen and I am caught in the middle once again... and I am very sensitive to all this.. so I will be back again at some stage,

You can usually get the Silver Dip in any jewelers. I buy Goddards if I can get it. Mum bought me a jewelery wash or something but it did'nt have any effect on silver at all.
Been Rambling up the tunnel this afternoon. I shall want to start sowing now so have cleared out all the old tom plants and taken up all the land cress and self sown rocket and the mass of chickweed, two barrows piled high ad placed in the chicken run. They loved it and been scratching about in it all afternoon.
Mandy you will be better to buy a cucumber plant in the nursary but make sure it is an F1 all female small fruit one. I tie mine at every leaf joint as Ann has said and I top up the soil over it with a bit of the bagged horse manure you can get in garden centers. It is not expensive and the toms like it too.

I bought OH a Robe*ts radio about the time he retired Jane........Chris's sounds like it is more complicated! :-S
Frank we are on that tariff too. It was about the best deal when we took it out as well. It's good to be able to save a bit by shopping around. Your garden is looking very good and spickety span after your and Ros's efforts lately. Your neighbour doesn't have much idea does he.......even though he must see what you and Ros do.
OH's toe is bandaged up now!! The doc today said it's definitely a ganglion and jabbed a needle in it and drew off all the gunge. He said it will most likely come back again and gave OH 4 Hyperdermic needles so he can do it himself the next few times........and he hates needles and injections!!!!! We still managed to go out though......quite good as it has slowed him to the pace my heel likes. I got some nice buttons and we called at H*bbycraft on the way back and I got some wire and small beads.
Yes Mandy, lots of close together ties are needed on cucumber plants. I made the mistake of not putting enough on at first, it's the weight of the cucumbers that tends to buckle the stem. I found I couldn't grow them on one side of the greenhouse and I think it was the draught from the door they didn't like as they have been fine planted the other side. It sounds like there will be no stopping you now!! :-)
My cousin's daughter had a degree fashion and textiles over 20 years ago Fiona and couldn't get a job in that field. She ended up volunteering overseas and teaching in Nigeria and met and married someone Scottish and very rich! How is the doggie doing now?? It's silly that the silver dip wasn't packed so it wouldn't break so easily. I have some, but it's that old I can't remember where I bought it.
I loved the emails today, especially the Always Wear Underwear one......I had tears rolling down my cheeks at that and it made OH chuckle too.
I loved the toast William! :-D

Jane, the idea came to me when I decided I was going to have toast for breakfast. Looks OK but it's difficult to eat the middle bit without getting in a mess! It's also Carmel's brothers birthday today as well as Shakespeare's birthday. Ones in Dublin, the other ones dead - I'll leave you to work out which is which :-D
Frank wanted to know where I got the loaf - only available to Miss Cranston's Tea Room (our kitchen!!). Apologies to Charles Rennie Macintosh and Glasgow in general!

Ooh what a mess that must have been Fiona.I'm sure you will be able to buy the cleaner somewhere locally.
Frank I think our Gas prices are fixed until 20015/16.So will just continue paying the same D/D until then.I see Petrol prices have gone down a few pence :-D.I wonder how long that will last lol We have only had 2 of 'those calls' today.Pretty good going compared to some days. I just don't answer the phone some days,as I know if it someone who wants to speak they will leave a message.
I think there is a lot of pollen in the air.It makes me feel quite odd some days.
Wow Shirl that email about the cabinet is incredible !!! and Kim ....love the Zipper lol
Chris has bought a new Radio a Robert* he is trying to set it up :-| :-| :-|.Looks a bit complicated to me lol..I think I will stay out of the way for now.

Ouch! I have caught the sun .Right on the top of my arms and shoulders. It was a real sun trap down at Fitz's on the terrace. They use that bit of the garden now that his Mother isn't there lol
Mandy Chris says to buy Cucumber plants that are grafted (I don't understand what that is) we always have the small cucumbers and find them lovely and sweet.
Frank your garden is looking lovely .Our Forsythia gives a nice splash of colour too
William ....I love your St Georges toast :-D :-D :-D.Very clever lol
Fiona I still think my emails might be hit and miss. But Ann can always seem to manage to send anything on.
Mel we haven't seen any more bunnies (touch wood) since Chris did some work in blocking where they were coming in.But as he says he will be ready with his gun :-S
I bought a nice bag today .One that I will take away .It has long or short straps and is big enough for all sorts to fit in on a journey. So I can pack my normal handbag in my suitcase.
We haven't heard from David for over a week now.I hope all is well and that he hasn't been kept in hospital.
I need a nice cold drink.A big glass of iced water I think.

Mandy you want an all female plant. I usually get the mini ones but don't buy the ridge kind as they have tough skin and prickles. When you go to the garden centre ask them for the small cues and they shoudl have some. So much better as you can use one at a time or two if you need more.
You can grow them in a grow bag or a large pot but you must tie them to a stronge cane. You pinch out the side shoots after two leaves and you should get cues on those too. Plenty of water and feed with tom fertilizer every watering or every other.

Afternoon all,
Come in for a break. Ros is still at it in the front garden, it looks a treat.
Our silly/lazy neighbour came out and asked Ros "How do you get your edges around the lawn so straight , and tidy" Ros couldn't believe a question like it. After explaining the half moon tool, and long handle shears, she seemed quite amazed . We give up on them. He came out a mowed the lawn, where the mower touched. The edges have been left, and must be 4 inches long. Ros has trimmed his side that boarders ours. Try to shame him into doing something with it. I don't suppose it will work.
Mandy, I have just put in about TWENTY Cucumber seeds. I did mention one is a non BURP one. If you would like me to, I will put a few into a pot and pack and post them to you when they are big enough. All you need to do is put them in a LARGE POT with canes to support them, leave the Greenhouse door open so they get pollenated , and tie them to the canes as they grow. Feed them regularly, and wait for them to produce the fruits of your labour !!! lol lol
Am I getting old or what ?? I made a cup of tea for Ros and I this afternoon, and opened a slab of Madiera cake. It seemed so tasteless after the one I remember from MAYPOLE just after the war. It was so lemony and buttery. I must be showing my age. "Fings ain't wot they use to be "
Cracking afternoon out there now. Slight breeze that keeps blowing the door closed in the conservatory, even though I have tried wedging it open.
Ros is doing one of her Leek pies tonight. All cooked ready for the pastry to go on, I have done the Spuds. So that my contribution.
We have had SIX of those Bloo## phone calls this afternoon. I blame LEWIS !! We now have a scrap lorry going round with a claxton blaring out. He was round Friday/Saturday/Yesterday and now today. I don't know how much he thinks he can collect every day. Gets on your nerves when you are trying to have a quite afternoon. MOAN OVER. for now.
Fiona, I think that's the best thing you can do. I'm sure department stores will keep that sort of thing.

Hubby should be having the day off tomorrow ( fingers crossed ) i bet some thing will happen so he has to work , we might get to a garden centre and then have lunch out .
