Back from shopping and most of it is put away but I just had to have a cuppa and a sit down.

I have been back to the opticans AGAIN and they are going to give me a new pair of frames for this pair now. I did'nt take my others with me so could'nt leave them......silly old fool.... I would forget my head if it was'nt screwed on, as my dad would say.

Jane I thinjk you would find that a lot of people will be missing Chester and not only family and friends but I felt as if I knew him and I know most of us on here will miss getting his funny pics on emails. Bless him, I am sure he is still with you but you just can't see him. It may sound silly but I still tlk to my Tilly Trotter sometimes.

It's blooming cold.Heating back on :-S.I bet you have all your clothes back on Frank lol
I decided against the Blue Rinse today Frank.I actually wish I had the courage to do something really different with my hair .Stay safe is my motto lol

Glad you had a lovely weekend Maureen and no nasty surprises for on your return :-D

William you do have a hectic week with Carmel. It will no doubt wear her out, when she is just getting her strength back.

Fiona I remember having so many glasses here .Other than our own,I had Chris's parents and then my parents glasses. They all ended up in Charity shops or Car Boot.
I just kept one set that my Dad brought back from Belgium or somewhere in the war.
Mum (when she was suffering with Dementia kept telling me how Dad had to wade through the sea holding all these glasses above his head ...Bless her :-D.I keep them in the bottom of one of my glass units and often have a little chuckle when I think of Mums story lol.I have no idea how Dad got them home. But it certainly wasn't by wading through the sea .

It's Pasta and sauce with lardons and chopped mushrooms added.I must get Chris to grate up a load of Parmesan to sprinkle on top.
Our old Postie Bob (he's not old ,somewhere in his 50's) called in this morning with a very fancy bottle of Whisky for Chris.Chris is his GP but Bob thought he was retiring now.It was a lovely thought, and he is a lovely chap.He missed seeing Chester, but had guessed he had gone as he hadn't seen me out and about with him.Chester used to love Bob :-D

Just got back from a lovely weekend with daughter and family. She was doing a nearly new sale of baby/toddler clothes Saturday and her partner was working so I looked after the children. It was such a sunny day spent all afternoon in their garden and have caught the sun. Not so warm today.

Great pics of Hogwart Mel, hedgehogs are so cute. Why are they called hogs, are they related in some way to pigs. Just about made out Buster Jane and yes lovely photo of your daughter and partner.

Wasn't sure what I would find after two days away but doesn't look like Alfie has left anything around the house, I have locked him outside since I got back, hope he goes in the garden but I can hear him scratching at the back door trying to get back in.

Your garden is going to look a treat come the summer Frank, you and Ros do put in a lot of effort. I was thinking of getting one of those greenhouses Mandy is yours one that is big enough to walk in, at least if I got one of those I could grow toms and salad stuff without the thought that Coca has p**d on them :-0

Frank Report 22 Apr 2013 13:12

My it's chilly round the nether regions this morning. Went out to do a bit of pottering, but soon came in.

Ros is potting up the little wheelbarrow with pansies, and a couple of pots on the doorstep.. It always looks so welcoming when you walk down the path.

If (and only IF) it gets warmer I will go and do my lawns, It looks like being warmer later in the week.

Just started a new book last night and the battery when flat on my Ebook, so couldn't get into the story. On charge now, so should be O.K. for later.

Ros tells me there has been more shootings in the U.S.A. Must catch the news at 1.30 pm. When is this all going to stop. I know the gun laws are so laxed out there, and deaths are the norm. but if this is more terrorists, when will it be put to bed.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Apr 2013 11:26

I got here first try today, just went and clicked on the thread name and posted and hey presto my post went.

It is shopping day today for me and oh has to go out this afternoon so don't know whether to go with him and do Holsworthy or go to Bideford. I must ring the opticans and ask about my glasses as I may be too late to have anything done about them now. The chip would be right on the bridge across my nose. I never thought when I chose them this would happen.

Zider and pasties went down well yesterday. When we cut them open they were cheese and potao ones.

May not have time to send the video of Hogwart and Co. Ltd but shall do it later or tomorrow.

Morning All and Evening Kim,

Dull old day today.

We let Hogwart out last night and did'nt really get any good pics of him. We had a couple of the little one and when it got to Hoggy something must have got on the lens of the camera as most came out fuzzy.

He is not in his house today so has taken himself off probably after a mate.

:-( :-( :-( :-(

Frank Report 22 Apr 2013 10:45

Hi all, evening Kim.

What a great nights sleep I had last night. (must be all the fresh air) Was in bed and settled down by 11.30 pm Woke at 7.00 am All showered and shaved before 9.00 am

Neighbour borrowed my hedge trimmer yesterday, which she returned, less the circuit breaker. I will need that when I do my lawns, I sometimes cut the CABLE. get it all caught up around my legs !!!

Plenty of aches and pains this morning, poor old Ros can hardly move. Looking up the lounge she looks as though she's dropped off. :-D :-D :-D

What have you got planned for today folks ??? nothing to strenuous I hope.

Mel, Did you get any pictures of the WARTS last night,??

So our Jane will come back from the hairdressers, with different coloured hair. What colour this time ???

Like you Will, I got on first time this morning, wonders will cease to happen !! Glad Carmel had a better night. I think a good nights sleep helps with recovery. Give her my love.

Funny sort of morning here, cloudy with a breeze. and as yet not too warm. and here I am in my shorts, ready to go and do my lawns and sit and read my book.

What a disaster in Chine with another Earth Quake. poor souls, they don't seem to be getting a great deal of help, as they are in a mountainous area. and there are land slides, which is hampering things. We are so lucky, we never get extreme conditions.

Morning All, Evening Kim

Just had breakfast , washing in , don't think I'll get it on the line, dull and very windy looks like rain.

MIL had to empty all her drinking glasses from the cabinet, so when her old carpet is replaced, the men will move her furniture, so guess who got all the glasses, she says she will never use them all again, so I took them and will sort them out, easier for me to organise them and get them to the charity shop. and the box is out of the way.
Just thought of a saying- Out of of sight ,out of mind , another less thing for her to think about :-)

Must get dressed and make a coffee, these pills I take at night , really give me a dry mouth, desperate for my cup of tea in the morning when I get up.

William , all our Daffs are out and a few crocus's , I think sunny Saturday brought them on , could do with a few more sunny days,

William

William Report 22 Apr 2013 09:08

Morning all, or whatever. The sun is shining and I got on here first time before 9am! Must be something right in the world. :-)

Carmel had a better night and I think she maybe on the mend. She has three appointments this week, I hate it when they all come together. This afternoon she is at the hospital (George Eliot) to see the tongue specialist about her Lichen Planus - not expecting any miracles there! Thursday morning first thing it's her diabetic clinic - then the same afternoon she is at Uni hospital in Coventry to get the injection in her head for her acute headaches. Should all be fun, I don't think.

We watched The Village last night too, think we are getting into it a bit, but can't figure out why the 'big house recluse' shot the animals then himself??? Best viewing for us yesterday was watching and listening to the school choir awards with Aled Jones. Absolutely great, I'd hate to judge that, they were all excellent. It's so lovely to see and hear young people doing well at a time when young folks get so much criticism.

Going down to see about some brekky now. I can't believe I actually turned our heating OFF this morning! Nearly May so it should be the norm by now. I still haven't done much in our garden except clear it up a bit. Nice to see tulips, daffs and forsythia out or ready to bloom. The forget-me-nots are just starting to open and I see our bluebells are well on the way.

I'll catch up with you all later - have a nice day. and Jane - nice photo on your email.

Evening All,

A lovely pic of John and Hannah Jane, they look very relaxed and happy. :-)

Mel, thanks for the clip, they don't dawdle do they!! It should be interesting to see what happens tonight in Episode 3 of 'The Warts'. lol. That was nice of the folk to give you Cider and pasties.......I could just fancy one!

I hope Carmel is feeling a bit better today, William. She must be fed up with it flaring up again.

Mandy, the last time OH used a power saw with his dad, he got some sawdust in his eye and we had to troop off to eye casualty. They couldn't see anything in it and sent him home, but it was agony the next day so we went back again. A different doctor spotted it this time and got it out. I must remind him to wear goggles when we do the arbour legs! It's amazing how things you save like bits of wood mount up. I hope the labouring it hasn't set your back off too much.

We went for a ride around this afternoon and called in another garden centre with a 20% off voucher! I've been wondering what to put in my tall terracotta coloured pot that wouldn't shed leaves and found just the thing, a nice red flowered smaller type of Rhododendron! Some nice acidic soil in there and it will be right at home.

Cripes, OH is calling........see you all tomorrow......hope Shirl and David are ok.

Mel it has taken me 4 times to get on here, tried twice before tea but kept getting the error page, then tried again at 7pm no joy and finely on the 4th go ,I am here.

FRANK teeth are fine now but not looking forward to next Friday when I have to go through it all again, but as you say it will be all over and done with.

OH dear!! :-( Matteo was a real mamma's boy tonight , he was not happy with any one else but his mamma, poor daughter had to eat her dinner with one hand while she cuddled him with the other, I think he was very tired , daughter no 1 said he had only 20mins nap this afternoon and didn't even drop off in the car like he usually does. they left early tonight so daughter can feed him and put him down for a longer nap.,

It's gone really cold now, better go and put in the second lot of dinner dishes into dishwasher , looks like there will be a 3rd lot after that, think OH has used every dish and pot in the kitchen tonight :-)

I watched Endevour last week and shall watch it again tonight on replay.

Glad you liked the little video. We will have the camera on Hogwart's ark tonight and see if they meet up. Could be interesting , could be a disaster.

Mandy when oh has been wood turning he comes in covered in sawdust so I know what you pair looked like!!

Evening all,

I have been round and round the garden getting on here, Try to do more that 60 pages and the Bugg## froze you out !!

TOLD YOU, but you never risen. to cold to eat outside. You must risen to your elders. It has really turned colder tonight. The heating came on, on it's own. to the point that I am sitting here in my shorts, and bare chested., Now don't get excited. ONE AT A TIME PLEASE. think of my poor old body !!

That was nice of the folks Mel, Pastie and Zider for tea.

We didn't have dinner till 6.45 pm. We were both outside, me putting things in larger pots with fresh compost, and feeding and watering. Ros was busy on the borders and putting the seeds in the greenhouse. out of the conservatory.

Yes Mandy I did watch those two lads, but as you say What a lot of RUBBISH. I don't think I could show myself up like they did. Why the hell don't they sort them out before the show goes live. I think I could enjoy watching GOOD ACTS.

Jane don't forget your NAPPY tonight :-D :-D :-D

Spots of rain on the conservatory window, so it might be coming your way Jane/Mandy/Ann. NO FROST TONIGHT.

Going to watch Endevour again tonight. difficult to get into last week, so it had better improve or I will be back on pooter.

Have a good evening all. See you in the morning.
