Lanarkshire

Try looking in ‘search all member trees’ for the names you know. If anyone has them in GR trees, send a contact message

Put your tree on GR, so that anyone lookng for connections can have the chance to contact you

It would help if you gave the full names and birth years of the people who emigrated to NZ

Are we to assume that a Black married a Mckay?

If you would like us to help - give some forenames and birth year info

Also, say what research you have done yourself to avoid duplication of effort

What are the names of those who emigrated?
When were they born?
Did they marry before they emigrated?
If so, do you have a copy of their MC & what are their parents names?

As you probably know, Scottish records are primarily held on Scotlandspeople, a subscription site. It’s sometimes possible to manipulate the site to give possibly result without paying. A number of transcriptions are held on other ones, including the free Familysearch. The 1911 census is only available on SP.

Do you mean you are looking for relatives still in Scotland - those (or their descendants) who did not emigrate?

Are the ones who emigrated called Black/McKay, or do you mean the people you hope to find in Wishaw?

Both are such common names. There will be lots of both in Wishaw - or wherever they may be living now.

Sent a PM asking Colin to return. His response was a request to view my tree!

Replied reiterating that he needed to come back here. No joy.
