Find Living Relatives

Been looking for John and Ellen Simmons on 1911 census but can't seem to find them.
John Thomas Simmons was born about 1875 and Ellen Elizabeth Cousins in 1882. They married in 1909 in West Ham so I would think that they would be on 1911 census but I've spent ages trying to find them. I have them on the 1939 Electoral register but would like to know where they're hiding before then! Any help would be appreciated please. Thank you.

Both sons were adopted so unable to find the births.
