i am looking for any information on the above person/
she was born in Pontypridd, Wales in 1947, her mother was Doreen Pheobe Channon, Christine surname was stated as Watson as this was her mother's married name at the time,
i do hope that there might be someone who can help or point me in the right direction. I can't find any death or marriage for her.

For our info:

first name is Christina on GRO Index.
Transcribed as Christina on FreeBMD, but as Christine on Ancestry.

However, her entry on the Index comes between two Christines, so maybe it's a typing mistake on the Index, and should be Christine.

Was she adopted, perhaps?
If so, her name would have been changed, which would account for there being no sign of her after her birth.

Do you know what the middle initials stand for?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 7 May 2020 20:32

Her mother's forenames are the other way round at birth and at both her marriages, 1940 and 1958.
Also at her death in 1969. All those records in Pontypridd.

Not that that helps find Christine.

Her mother remarried and had more children. Seems likely she was adopted as there's nothing for her under the new surname.

If you are a birth relative of Christine {this includes relation by blood (including half blood), marriage or civil partnership}, you can add your name to the Adoption Contact Register:

Instructions here:

Then if Christine has also registered, or does so in future, looking for her birth family, you may be put in contact with each other.

It's a long shot, of course - she may not have registered.

Nothing on freebmd to suggest adoption.

Do you think you’re related to those people whose names you have posted?

Thank you everyone.
Christine's father wasn't Watson or Snowden, so i think this must be making it more difficult
Christine had a brother (younger) and an elder sister who died at 1 year
The brother took on the surname of Snowden, but cant understand why Cristine didnt, so it must be either adoption as her brother was 4 years younger and hasnt mentioned her (i dont think so) otherwise my partner would know more about her.
Thank you

The brother was registered under Snowden as well. Christine was not.

Since asking for help with Christine Watson, i have been told that she as fostered, would there be any records if a child was fostered? as I as thinking that maybe she took on the name of the fostered parents or was adopted by them.
would it be best to start with close family relatives that she had?
thank you
margery

Unless the people who fostered her did go on to adopt her , then she would keep her birth name
