Probyn Family - Liverpool

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Anne

Anne Report 30 Dec 2020 14:23

I am now in my 80's and sorting through family photographs. Have found some 'snaps' of my late father Thomas Forrest and his best friend Joe (Joseph) Probyn taken on a camping holiday in the Isle of Man. This was probably in the late 1920's early 1930's. Joe and my father worked together at Mousells' Furniture Removers in Liverpool up until the 1950's/1960's. I do know that Joe had a son called Bernard who was probably the same age as me I was born in 1940.

If there are members of Joe's family who would like to have these photos, then I would be more than happy to post them.

The only birth of a Bernard Probyn anywhere near 1940 was in West Ham in 1935 - but his father was William.

There's no marriage of a Joseph Probyn in Lancashire/Cheshire 1920-45.

So it doesn't look as if the Probyns belonged to Liverpool.

Can you remember anything more about them?
Perhaps Joseph's wife's name?

Were Joe and your father living in Liverpool at the time of the photo?

Bernard is on the Liverpool ER to 2012. No death for him up to 2019............

His second wife Irene died in 2018

One probable son from his first marriage.......too recent to post on here

John appears to be in one GR tree

There are two marriages for a Bernard G Probin , in Liverpool - 1960 (Harris) and 1980 (Arnold). Not necesarily both the same person.

The 1960 wife died in 2007.
That couple had one son, born in 1961.

No children from the second marriage.

ErikaH Report 30 Dec 2020 15:24

No children born to Probin with second wife's name at marriage - unless she was divorced or widowed, of course, in which case MMN would be different.

There's no sales history for the 2012 address.
Bernard's probably a tenant, but may still be there, if he has opted out of the public Electoral Roll.
