Can anyone help me on this soldier from world war two. I do not have much.

His name was Job Lewis, born 1910 - 1920 Died 1940.

His name was Captain Job Lewis . Address Uplands, Swansea. West Glamorgan.

I think he was in the airforce.

Thats all I have. I don't even know if Job was a shortened name.

If he was in the RAF, he wasn’t a soldier.

If he was a Captain, he wasn’t in the RAF

If he died on active service, there will be some info on the CWGC site. Try looking there

Otherwise, look for his death on freebmd for age

Where did you find the Swansea address?

Is it possible we've been following the wrong man?

ADDED:
A Google search tells me that Uplands is a suburb of Swansea - not necessarily a full address.

There's also a street named Uplands in Port Talbot, not far from Swansea, on 1939 Register. Seems to be called The Uplands nowadays.

Posting just in case relevant - though probably not:

Hi, I have been trying to find out more from a relative. Job Lewis .. He was engaged to be married, The only address he remembers is the Uplands which is a small area in Swansea, that is the only thing my cousin can remember about the details. I have looked throught the archives of all the Swansea men who lost their lives, and you maybe right, no Job Lewis listed ... He may have been stationed here ? There is an area in IOW called the Uplands. I am going to try and get the local newspaper archives, apparantly his death was mentioned in a daily paper. Thanks for all your info..
