	I think the reason nobody ever cooks for us Jackie is they are afraid it will fail,I notice young family members always serve salads or let the men BBQ when us cooks come calling.

Member Since: May 2005 Posts: 8 501 Send Message	He did ask for food at first Daff but not anymore. They had to take his toothpaste off him at one stage as he was eating Toothpaste. They said that was normal and happens a lot. How that can be normal I will never know. We found a bar of Chocolate one day but he hadn't eaten it. He hoards things lol. We go through his cupboards and drawers each week to make sure he hasn't got anyhting he shouldn't have

	Not music Jackie, food. Yes apart from the process itself which I saw performed when I worked in nursing homes it is awful when residents ask catering staff for drinks or food and they have to refuse.Most of the time though peg patients are no longer able to request food but I did encounter some cancer patients who were quite aggressive when we had to refuse their requests.All too sad I had to get out of nursing home catering.

Member Since: May 2005 Posts: 8 501 Send Message	Yes Daff been on peg feeding for 9 months now. It is heartbreaking. Especailly when he loves Chocolate and he can't even have a taste. He just can't swallow solid food so they had to peg him. It wasn't an easy decision for my sister to have to make. She has Power of Attorney over him. He would have died from starvation if it had not been done.
