Thats true

My husband worked 10 hours a day 6 days a week but always found some time for the boys. I helped them mostly but he was always there for them especially with their reading ever night for half an hour. Sundays was the Sports day for both of them and we never missed that either we always went to see them play.

I used to help the boys with their homework when we had the roadhouse they sat in the back room so I could help them between customers so you can arrange things if you want to no matter what long hours you work.

Your children are different though and I applaud you for what you try and achieve with them it must be such a worthwhile job

It sure is Daff Both my boys knew their Alphabet and could read a little before they went to school. They could write their names and address and knew their phone number. Hubby and I spent time every night once they were at school helping with their reading.
The almighty Dollar stands in the way of childrens Education at home in some cases.

Liz Report 2 Apr 2009 17:15

A lot of our kids won't ever get as far as reading and writing - we made cards to take home for Easter today, and only 2 of the class of 9 year one and two kids could make an attempt at writing their name.

But we achieve lots of other things instead!

Daphne

Daphne Report 2 Apr 2009 17:12

It's a shame Jackie,we were just talking about that last night. My mother taught us to read write and count and we were always years ahead of the children in our classes
