Thats great

Yes the ones I help have learning difficulties. I feel so sorry for some of them though as they don't get any help from home. I ask a girl if she read at home to Mum.She said to me Mum hasn't time as we have a shop. It's so sad. I did get her reading in the year I was helping though as the teachers haven't the time for one on one reading

Yes, I am and I love it.

The children in our school range from the ones who have spent some time in mainstream schools, and not been able to cope academically, to children with profound and multiple handicaps.

Liz are you a teacher?

I help children with their reading as a Volunteer
The ones that don't get any help at home. I really enjoy helping them and get a lot of satisfaction from it.
I have had a small break from it as my Volunteer day is on the day I visit my brother. I can't change the day as it's my sisters only day off and we like to go to see him together

I totally agree Daff.
I blame the Government for allowing them to get away with it.

It is a touchy subject though

It's up to 11 year olds.

I think the parents enjoyed making the hats as much as the children did wearing them! But we made sure that the children who had obviously done a lot of the work themselves won the prizes.

They are not satisfied with equal time here Liz certain ethnic groups try to dominate the locals and get away with it.I don't care where people are from but I don't think they should be allowed to dictate.

We do celebrations for the other major religions as well, and it's a very multi cultural school - everyone just joins in.

Liz you are lucky you can still have Easter activities they aren't allowed here anymore because like Christmas they offend minority religions.

The boys enjoyed it just as much as the girls - but they do all have learning difficulties, so are probably more willing to participate.
