No well unfortunately Daff , Where I lived until I was 21 and married and moved out ,there was a natural spring in the village which everyone used in the event of a disconnection.
I've just checked and think it's back on so I must put some clothes into wash and do the breakfast dishes.

On my first trip to China the water went of for some reason so everyone grabbed buckets and headed for a well in the middle of town that had been there for centuries but some city official had added a motorized winch just in case of emergencies.

I had plans to do washing and a bit of extra cleaning in the kitchen but our mains water has been off since midnight for a mains repair.
They did say it should be back on in 2 hrs that was 9.30 am so I'll have to check.lol

Hope you're back strain is improving.
We'd have no water since midnight, only realized after it had gone of so couldn't fill any buckets!.There was enough in the kettle for hubby and dau to have a cuppa this morning. Just saw the repair men ,they said it would be off for another 2 hrs whilst they do a repair . Pain! I wanted to do some washing as it quite bright and windy, also we have a combi boiler so dont have a hot water tank !

It's been quiet on this thread tonight.
