Thanks Jan, it was a worry.
Both hubby and son use those bits of road to get home, both in different directions , son was already home fortunately.

*$parkling $andie* Report 24 Mar 2009 19:17

The road is blocked off in both directions from the junction I can see past the 2nd crash by a flashing police car,( there is a lower side rd that peeps are using ) and the junction in between the 2 crashes is being controlled by police on foot. The ambulance from the 2nd crash has just pulled off ,that's over an hour they've been there, must have had to cut someone out of the car .Ooh gives me the shivers.

*$parkling $andie* Report 24 Mar 2009 19:03

Sorry haven't been back on ,
At the time hubby comes home from work, there were were police sirens going off. I didn't think anything about it except that they were going in the direction that he comes home ,and he was 20 mins late so I was a bit worried. I had been across that stretch of road this morning and there were traffic lights, it appears there was a head on collision just at the lights just before hubby got there. It's only 400 yds from where we live ,but we are offf the main rd. Son's friend lives close by and has said on MSN that there were fatalities, there were paramedics there when hubby came past.
We can see the main rd further west and as we sat down to eat , lo and behold at another location within our view a police car .2 ambulances and a fire tender turned up and are still there, now with portable lights up .so thats 2 crashes within about 600 yds of each other and within about 10 mins of each other. It's a 30 mile limit and fairly straight so goodness knows what has happened.
I hope that there were no fatalities ,you know how rumours spread, but it has shaken me up a bit. Still haven't washed my hair looks like a lions mane now !!
See you in a bit
