Mini Chocolate Rolls

Allan

Allan Report 13 Oct 2014 23:05

Well, I've got them all in one place: my study :-|

Now all I've got to do is fill in the various charts and get the records in some sort of order :-P :-D :-D

I found a brill record on FMP today!
My Great Grandfather's Baptism transcription from Kent History Society!

There were two Charles William Woods of the same age, in the same area. My Charles had William as a middle name on Census' (sometimes with his stepfather's surname-Wilson) and marriage certificate, but not on his Birth Certificate. I hoped I had identified the correct William, as my second cousin has a different family on her tree- the other one!

I was right. The name William was added at his baptism. Relief :-D

Good for you. I have found that FMP is quite good. I would also like a sub to Ancestry, but can't afford them both. The public trees on Ancestry are good.

I can't really complain about GR, I have done very well with them. I suppose all of them have something to offer. I have also found things on GR that are not on FMP.

Haven't tried Ancestry, but I know loads on here prefer them for research and keep GR for the Boards.

I only use GR for the boards plus my ongoing search for my grandfather, as many people have helped me on that thread

I probably will eventually just take out a Standard Subs on here, cos I haven't really been using my Platinum Subs, and I need to get on with some decorating :-( :-(

Mind you, the pleasure I have had from the Boards, (something I never ever thought I would do) I don't grudge the cost of the Platinum even if I am only occasionally using the records now.
It works out to about £2 a week, even with the Parish Records.

I made one yesterday; beef. Plenty left over for today :-D

I'm going to call it a day for now. I've got a rehearsal this morning so I need to get ready. I'll try to be later to annoy all the smiley ones ;-)

Sleep well, Jem :-)
