I have just been looking at paintings by Clifford Montague!!!

I typed in Clifford Mortimer Artist into Google, which took me to your old thread. It reminded me of the Clifford Montague that some GR people had posted about and I was curious.

There's loads of them.

It did occur to me that maybe the family idea of a name change, was FROM Mortimer for Artistic reasons, but as both Clifford Mortimer and Clifford Montigue have 1911 Census' it's very doubtful, unless he was leading a double life :-D :-D

Well isn't it? :-S :-D :-D ;-)

Sometimes it's the most ridiculous ideas that are the correct ones :-D :-D :-D

I have followed up each of the Sutton brothers through the census'.
The 4 eldest were all in the military.
The youngest two were clergymen. One married, one not.

Captain Charles Sutton died in 1892. He had paralysis of the brain.

Henry died in 1905, but there are no later Census' that I can find for him

If this is a possibility, Francis seems to be the more likely, although Richard (the son) also married in St George Hanover Square.

Interesting that both couples (Francis and Evelyn; Joseph and Jane) married at almost the same time and had a child approx the same time too!
