Hi, Jem

Yes we did, thank you. OH went to see our son and his partner in the afternoon. Son's partner went into the private hospital as she has medical insurance. Her first bill was waiting for her when she got home :-S :-S

Wontons

Jem, we do have a Public Hospital service but our current Federal Government seems to be trying to introduce an American style system by stealth.

A 'discussion' paper produced by the Private Health Insurers suggested that people with private medical insurance should receive priority attention in A & E departments of Public Hospitals.

Even the medical profession backed away from that idea :-| :-|

As an example, Mum's giving birth in public hospitals....no charge.
Those going privately often end up paying up to $5000.00 out of their own pocket

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 5 Sep 2014 23:36

How would that work in an A & E dept? Surely you could only prioritise by the seriousness of the emergency?:-S :-S

Everything is going crazy!
