It did, thanks, Jem, and I received a promotion; from the Grand Master, no less :-D :-D. I am now a Past Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.

Quite a mouthful, but I am now a Very Worshipful Brother, previously I was just a Worshipful Brother :-D :-D

The storms have abated but there has still been heavy rain over the last few days. And the kitchen is a mess, not from Nature but from renovation work :-( :-D :-D

Iced bun

That's my lot for now, Jem. Yesterday was a really long day. We had overnight gales on Friday which carried over until late yesterday (Saturday) so I got very little sleep with the noise and rain. Then yesterday was the Installation of my new Lodge. Normally I would have a quick afternoon nap, but there was no time. The day, for me, went from 1.00pm until just after 9.30pm, so I'm feeling pretty shattered right now.

Sleep well :-)

My paternal grandparents were married in Blackpool in 1904. I have a postcard of the hotel which was given as their respective residences on the Marriage Cert. The pc is from the same era and cost me $2,00 from a site in the US :-D

Ann is the only GR member I've met too. She's been a good friend to me over the last 7 months :-)

I thought about you when I saw various signs for "Blackpool and Fylde" things.
Wasn't your Father or Grandfather born in Fylde?

Ah, Holmfirth. We used to go there occasionally when we lived in Middleton. A delightful spot.

I'm glad that your meeting with Ann was a success.

The only person from GR that I have met is Persie and that was during our NZ jaunt :-D

Yes, apart from the long journey causing sciatica :-D

I met **Ann** in the Service Station on the M56. We had cake and chatted for 2 hours! :-D
We stayed in Marton Mere near Blackpool, but going to Holmfirth where the Last of the Summer Wine was filmed was the reason for our holiday up North :-)
