That's sad :-(

One of the nurses was Elsie Cook, wife of Sydney Cook, the son of Australia’s sixth prime minister, Joseph Cook.
She used her maiden name (as married women were not allowed) so she could follow her new husband everywhere he was posted. :-)

That's why I like Albany so much....a very historical town. Not only was it the first settlement in what was to become WA, but it was also the last sight of Australia that many of the ANZAC troops were to see :-(

I've just finished watching a series called "Anzac Girls". A true story about Australian and New Zealand nurses in WW1. It was very moving! :-)

I found the marriage record of one of the Australian Nurses to an Australian orderly turned Army Officer! :-D
They married in Oxford just before he was sent home, having been too badly injured to return to the battlefield!

Not too bad, but two of the main players didn't turn up, nor were they there last week. They will not have a clue as to what is happening. I've been a member of the Craft for nearly thirty years and have not seen the ceremony we are about to perform. Just this once, I'm hoping that we receive no visitors :-(

Eggs Benedict

And that's my 50,000th post :-D :-D
