Jam sandwich

We may Jem, but long story short: My brother was presented with a piece of chocolate mud cake (sorry Polly) with a candle on the top :-D. This was with the compliments of the Management. The cake was not large by any means. Anyway at kicking out time (7.30pm) the cake was still there so someone asked a staff member for a container to take the cake home in. Back came the horrified reply that absolutely no food was to be removed from the restaurant. You'd have thought that we had asked the poor lass to join is in a Black Mass and consequent orgy. Hence we had to take matters into our own hands and liberate the cake for future consumption

All in good time, Jem, all in good time ;-)

I'm trying to build an atmosphere of expectation, even tension. Perhaps I may call it 'The Great Escape' woven around tales of daring do, not to mention daring don't :-0 :-D :-D :-D

Fruit cake

Jem, I eat very few sweet things these days, but by choice. With diabetes you can still have sugar, but like all things, in moderation. The taste of sweet things these days leaves a weird taste in my mouth.

With the buffet, I went for things I really enjoy but that you can't seem to buy locally. I figured that at $75.00 a head, I was going to get value for money :-D :-D

Sounds wonderful :-)

Do you miss being able to eat sugary things? or do you prefer savoury food anyway?

I would not have been able to resist the desserts I'm afraid!

Many oysters, and other seafood, some of the hot meat dishes and vegetables. I didn't have any Asian dishes as I reckon that there are enough Chinese and Thai Restaurants locally that it wasn't worth it. Finished with some cheese and biscuits. I didn't have any sweets, but must admit that the selection was fantastic. However, just looking at it I could feel my blood sugar levels rising.

Battenberg Cake

Pt 2

The Atrium itself was very large. I'm used to buffets being a central servery with access around all sides, but, when all said and done with a few hot choices and a few cold choices with a selection of starters such as soup.

The Atrium actually has at least four serveries (that I could count) One serving Asian Food, one with Seafood a massive Z shaped one with hot meat dishes, including a carvery and one just for sweets. The seafood one had things like oysters, prawns, Japanese Sushi, Crab claws, marinated octopus plus a good selection of mussel dishes.

Soup was on a separate serving table.

You just drifted around the area choosing what you would like. You weren't restricted to either, or! :-D
