That's what we thought, Jem :-D

Rashers of Bacon.

And that's it for now. I'll describe the restaurant itself tomorrow, or possibly later on today, and don't let me forget the tale of the smuggled cake ;-) :-D :-D

Sleep well Jem :-)

That sounds great value Allan :-)
I had to do the conversion to pounds! £8.7 UK Pounds :-D

You wouldn't get a decent Sunday Lunch here for that now!

Onion Soup.

Interesting isn't the word. OH had never been before so did not know what to expect. I was just gobsmacked! :-0

It's a very good job that my niece-in-law drove, otherwise I would have been completely lost :-S We did find a parking spot quite close to the entrance, but I wouldn't have even known where to begin looking.

Funnily enough we found out a couple of days ago that the senior cits, which is just around the corner from us, do a trip to Burswood every two months for $15.00 pp that includes coach travel there and back (arrive at 11.00am and leave at 3.00pm) plus a buffet lunch and a voucher to use at the Casino. We might give it a go, and at least we can get our bearings :-D

As for the venue of the meal, the Burswood Complex, it must be twenty years since I was last there for a conference, and even then I stayed at a hotel some distance away and walked to the venue. In those days there was the casino, a hotel, conference venue and a sporting arena. I think that the public car park held about 750 cars.

Now there are umpteen buildings housing an entertainment centre, the casino complex itself with at least six restaurants, including the Atrium which was the buffet one we went to and I never did find out the size of the car parks, but an educated guess would be 2-3000bays, most of them full.

There is also a food hall and the usual fast-food outlets in the building

Not just hot, Jem, but there were a few bushfires raging. In fact, on the way back to my nephew's place after the meal, there was one only a couple of kilometres away. You could actually see the bright orange glow of the flames :-(

I'm glad the journeys went well Allan, especially if it was still very hot!

Fungus

The trip was good Both going up to Perth and travelling back home. It only took us 2hrs each way. Before the new Highway was constructed it was a 2.5 hr journey to Perth Centre and then a further 15 mins North.

Traffic on the freeway in and around Perth was very heavy and chaotic, as usual! It was the first time for a few years that we had actually been there by Road. The last few times we have been on the train
