Passenger lists ,and only passenger lists,on FMP will not go to the page whenI click on it to make a search.

FMP email me to say I need flash to view images
I tell them I have flash and adobe and just about every other ### thing to view images.
I can view any other image and get on any other page but Passenger lists,so what they gonna do about it?
They say I need to use "enhanced viewer "then.
I say how can I use that if I cant even get the ### page up to make a search ,to get a transcript, let alone try to view an image?

Do I really seem that stupid??

Dont bother answering that one.

Can any of you get the passenger lists up on FMP please ,or is it just me?

Hactually.......'marrow' is a term of affection in this part of the world.....as in 'good night me old marrer'. Or so I'm told!

Better than expected Sylvs. No public 'meltdowns' but I felt like a puppy on a lead as I was trailed from shop to shop to shop! Was glad to get home.....for a sit down...it's mentally as well as physically wearing.

Nice to see some sensible folk back on board.......we started the day with fridge/freezer noises and have ended it on marrows and turnips....ah well.

Oh yes....Queen's head? She faces right on all her coins. Seems monarchs alternate so Charles (heaven help us) will face left.

Just thought you'd like to know that now that we have near royalty on board. If our Janey was on a coin I bet she'd be full frontal - eyeball to eyeball ! :))

Of course I haven't got any patience....it's nearly bedtime here remember......and now I've got to formulate a reply from your reply.........sigh.

Marrows are tonight's theme - stuffed or otherwise.

The other lot have all gone walkabout 'cept Fans who is bored and intent on making mischief and was no help whatsoever.

Hi all

OH cooked a swede last Sunday, said he thought only part of it might be edible 'cos it had been so hard to cut.

He mashed it ................ then threw it straight into the garbage.

It was so woody throughout that it was inedible!

It was only a small one so should have been OK

I make (or used to make ...... OH does it now) marrow & ginger jam, rhubarb and ginger, quince jelly, plum jam, tayberry jam, blackberry jam, spiced blueberry jam, kiwifruit jam, seville orange marmalade

these are what I put out for breakfast

:)))

Oh, well, if one is going to harass me with PMs, one is going to see them in the headlines.

"The other lot are as much help as a stuffed marrow."

........................... Snork.

Oh, sigh, now comes the PM. And of course the Error Message instead of the Inbox. Oh ye of little patience ...

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 25 Sep 2010 21:46

Swede? I believe you'll find that's "rutabaga".

OK, the PM.

This person is paying to use "records" at this site. First mistake.

When we search at FreeBMD or Ancestry for, say, a birth, we are given an exact result, with the registration details.

I believe that when you search here you are given a list of pages where you might find the name, and you're welcome to go look at the image.

However, the person may be getting a result like a FreeBMD result, which is the GRO index. Except they're *expecting* to get the whole shebang -- parents' names, dates, places, blah blah. Tough swedes. Doesn't work that way.

(Now, Ontario always did that. At Ancestry, the image you see is of the register, and it includes all that for births. And parents' full names for marriages, plus the parties' ages and birthplaces. But not in England, noooo.)

Or -- the person is searching here at GR without paying, and getting lists of names but no way of accessing the info associated with. Go use FreeBMD. Or if it's a census, go subscribe somewhere that has them.

As for not being able to find what they saved ... well how the heck is anybody, even moi, supposed to know what that's about??

HELP.....ANYONE....
I've just received the following pm and don't know it means let alone how to reply!! Any ideas welcome

*************
What I haven't come across so far is the credit system and how to use it. I had found some info and added it to my tree but now can't find what I've saved. It also struct me as odd that I couldn't get more detailed info not just a name in a list, so I was looking for the next level of info as obviously thats where the detail is going to be to move you forward.

If you could guide me thriugh the next stage I'd be thank full.

Can someone go find JC for me............??
