Morning All

Nice breakfast Robert - very nice - your breakfasts are so good - I might start coming to dinner too !!!!

Bet that thrills you !!!!

Happy holiday Fans - come back soon

Reading thru the girls threads of last night - it seems to me some people do not want to research their tree - they just want to fill in names found by other people

I managed to make a tree of over 400 people going back to 1700 s - using a "dial up" internet - before broadband came here - without any subscriptions ( I did not know they existed ) - using parish records - writing emails and asking for look ups at the History centres - using the free 1881 census - and the parish census free on line - freebmd - and familysearch - and without any family information - except my memory

Now I am not saying this as a boast - but if you decide start to RESEARCH a family tree - surely you research -

Yes we all "lose people" - I have several - and I have asked for help - but the truth is they are "lost" it happens

I am happy that I found all I have found - and most of all I searched and searched to find the 4 children my Granny said had died on the 1911 census - they are now recorded for ever -

What satisfaction would there really be - asking someone to find them - before I had searched - they are my family

When I read the comments made to Jax and Jc it just makes me wonder Why

Sermon over for today -

Good morning one and all, fun and games last night I see!

Pat, are you sure about this thread???

Well.........it's pouring with rain and I'm off to welcome patients into the wonderful world of my local hospital. If we can make them smile as they enter those worthy portals in a state of trepidation, then it is all worthwhile.

Must go and make a dash for the car.......be good.

Fans gone yet????

Hip hip hooo.........

....... Gigi? ........

I haven't had a thank you on Success in months.

I think my problem is that I become good buddies with the ones with the real problems and they then kind of look at me as their personal person.

Which is better than being looked at as one of this place's researchers, anyhow.

Did I ever recount the tale of one I did about 2 years ago, where I developed the wild theory that the fast young man in the red sports car in the south of England in the roaring twenties, who fathered the son of the factory girl he employed, was really the scion of landed gentry in Ireland, and did not die in a car crash as said son had always been told? Said scion had a few years missing from his official bio, and eventually married rather later and took up his landed gentry duties.

Well, he was. The scion of the landed gentry. And the old academic gent in his 70s in Australia has been embraced into the bosom of his newfound Irish family. Keen. But the old academic gent's wife deleted the thread once it was discovered that my wild theory was true. ;)

And you end up here Pat?

Oh dear, what an introduction to GR .

Baptism by fire.

I may as well shorten your name before Gins gets back, cos she will anyway.

And careful how you "feel"your way round this thread Pat,we do have a couple or 4 gentlemen callers on here and you can get some laughable surprises sometimes..:)
