Thank you Dea.

Unfortunately most of the pub burned down in 1901 but we ate in the only surviving room.

I have now eaten in 5 pubs owned by ancestors. Probably more to go.

Last night I found he even had a fleet ofprivately owned railway wagons and one of the places he operated from was Tiverton.
There is a now a miniture railway there and we visited it with grandaughter.

Good morning all,....

OOhhhh Cynthia,

'DROOL' indeed - Robert really is spoiling us - I have put on 5 lbs this week !

I always have to look up at least one of his items for a translation - this time it was 'Mimosa' - to me that is a tree, however, it is apparently what we call 'Bucks Fizz' - Champagne and Orange juice! - I learn something new every day !! (I'll take mine neat though - the Champagne I mean, not the Orange juice tee hee!!)

I hope it's ready early as I have to make room for my lovely cream tea later.

Dea x

P.S. - I hope you are feeling less 'cross' now jax - mind you, that pm would have made me very angry too - 'enough to make a saint swear' as the saying goes !!

Welcome back LK,

It looks like you had a wonderful time, both with your family and with your family history 'finds'. It must have been really strange having lunch in the Pub where your ancestors used to live - Did you ask if you could have a 'little look' around the bed chambers etc. ??

Thanks for the cream tea and strawberries it looks delicious but I will have to save it for later this afternoon as have you seen the spread Robert has laid on for brunch ???

I will save room for my 'afternoon cream tea though !

Thanks,

Dea x

I am normally pretty good at remembering things I have done before, must have had a senile moment lol.
I was going to delete that thread after my main look up thread was whooooooshed, but thought there were some people that had not acknowledged so decided to leave it where it was.
So by the time I get back on tomorrow I expect look ups for scotland and other countrys, because they do not read the heading

I think her post on your old thread was from back before she started her own.

Yup. 28 July. She just now got around to acknowledging your reply.

So it was over two months before she started her own, no wonder you didn't remember. Turner? ;)

Thats what I mean!
Seeing as I was helping on her own thread anyway but obviously could'nt remember that far back that I had already looked up that info, she asks me again?
What she was asking for I dont have access to anyway

She will have found your thread in her "my threads" with your old reply, presumably. Just the way she'd find her own thread .......

How this person would think I would know what I posted when she has deleted the thread?? I only remembered the surname as it was the same as one of my ancestors and the same area. If she bothers to reply I will mention the fact I knew she read my pm.
Strange Frances managed to pick up that thread of mine which has'nt been used for ages but not come back to her own one?

How stupid do some people think other people are??

I really would PM that one back and say: See my name above this message? Click on it. That will show you all the messages I've sent you. And fyi, the system shows me that you read it.

I'd also mention that starting one thread, deleting it and starting another violates the "do not submit more than once" rule, "just in case you're considering it".

I'm waiting for darling Frances to come back ...

Just got a pm that has made me mad

Spent a good while a gave loads of info last night to someone who was obviously new so I sent her a pm advising her to return to the thread and to remove her email address.
pm was opened shortly afterwards and when I got up this morning thread was gone and no reply to the pm I sent either, so sent another pm asking why?
pm just recieved was I never recieved a message from you so could you re-post the info......NO is the answer aghhhhh

Hi guys

I am back from Devon.

Took me several hours to read through a weeks postings.

Breakfast on caravan verandah several times.

Shared with wasps and seagulls.

Fantastic view though.

Some amazing meals out .

Too scrummy to mention.

I have bought you all a Devon cream tea with clotted cream and strawberries.

grand daughter was so energetic.

Went swimming. Zoomed down hi speed slides. Played crazy golf etc

My washing machine has broken down while I was away so I will have to wait for that to get fixed.

Some good finds though. Found the grave of OH gggrand parents in Stoke St Mary near Taunton and a limekiln in the middle of some woods that belonged to his great grandfather's brother. Found a record in a book that said he used carrier pigeons to communicate between Taunton and the Limekiln.
Had lunch today in the pub they lived in.
