OH phoned his sis .............. it looks as though all her treatment, whatever it is, will be given in her home town :-)

She will be seeing one of the doctors in the Cancer Centre there on Thursday, and will be discussing what is going to happen next ...............

............... from my own experience, that will include a discussion of what they think is the recurrence rate for her, as well as comparisons of treatments.

First thing daughter said when she phoned was "your grandson wants to talk to you"!

He's gradually getting better at talking clearly. He said very clearly "Hi Grandma", and then went off onto some tale, which I wasn't sure about!

But after I'd said goodbye to him (which actually is "give Mummy a big kiss"), I heard him running away shouting "Daddy I talked to Grandma" ............ very clearly!

OH had a good trip back ..... apart from a little so-and-so sitting in the window seat (OH prefers the aisle seat), who kicked OH twice as he went past into the aisle. OH kicked him back on the second one :-D :-D

Kid did not repeat the action!

We used to call such children OPKs ...... for Other People's Kids

He has to be up early tomorrow morning (Monday) ...... he has to go to the eye surgeon for a check-up on the eye that had the cataract removed.

Then we're going to do some grocery shopping and possibly try to get the last presents bought ............ ours!!

It's now only 3 weeks before we leave on the train for our daughter's for Christmas. So the pressure is on to get the Christmas letter written, copied, and posted!

SylviaInCanada Report 19 Nov 2012 00:42

Had just sat down to have my lunch and to look on here and other sites, and daughter phoned.

Was watching the time because I knew when OH might arrive home .......... but I missed hearing him come in the house until I heard this plaintive cry of "Hello"

he said he'd called Hello 6 times before I answered.

This IS a long house, not a wide one ..... it's quite a way from the front door to where I was sitting, listening intently to what daughter was saying.

Anyway, she managed to have a little chat with him.

Since then. we've been busy ....... unpacking his case, sorting out gifts he'd brought home, doing some washing, and, of course, going out for afternoon coffee :-D

He's been up for almost 24 hours, and is trying to keep going for another 3-4 hours, until 8 or 9 pm this evening, before going to bed ....... he finds that helps him to get on track as quickly as possible.

I have a lovely beef stew bubbling away in the oven.

Dea Report 18 Nov 2012 13:50

Wow !! - It is a very good job that I know how to salvage my cooking and nurture it back to health !!!

Just cooked a loverly steak pie and gravy, home grown carrots and peas and had put my potatoes on to boil to make a lovely mash to go with it !

15 - 20 minutes or so for the potatoes ;-)

I checked them after 10 minutes and there was just a pan full of water and 'mush' !! - Hubby looked in dispair and I said, don't worry, I will nurture them !! - This I did, straining the mush and putting it back in the pan on a very low light to dry it out - added loads of pepper and butter and managed to produce a perfect tasty mash - Halo for me I think ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D

Gord knows what those 'finest King Edward potatoes' really were???

Good evening........ :-D

I have been here, there and everywhere today!

I popped in and did all my messages earlier and yes, I have sent one as required Gins.

Really pleased to learn that my favourite coffee shop has been awarded first prize in the Start-Up Enterprise of the year by the local council - Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

It's a super little place which opened at the beginning of the year. The young woman whose business it is, has worked so hard to create a fabulous little place. Her parents are retired teachers and do most of the cooking. Well done to them all I say. :-D :-D

Going for a mooch around to relax....~~~~~
