I have a 'pin' Ginns - It was originally used for son's 'nappy' but it has since been used for fastening together a sling for when he broke his arm on a skateboard and even more recently when I popped my button orff my trousers (till I could find the button to sew back on) ;-) :-D

re the phone call about my OH from the Doctor. When Oh got back home last night he informed me that he hasnt taken the tablet the Doctor wanted him to stop for months as our own Doc had told him to stop it months ago cos it was upsetting his stomach :-(

Now we will have to wait till Monday till he can phone the hospital and speak to the Doctor (he had gone by the time OH got through just left message with nurse)
so back to waiting game :-(

I guess at your age, its a miracle that you can remember what a 'PIN' is :-0

I've had 'blank' moments when remembering my PIN occasionally! Feel such a twerp. :-(

You can also go wrong if you don't press the keypad correctly too - I like the bigger keypads in M & S - just the right size for fingers... :-D :-D :-D

I hate those machines where you have to insert your credit card, and then punch in a PIN number ......................... more things seem to go wrong that they used to when you handed the card to the assistant and s/he swiped it through their machine!


I'm always scared of not remembering my PIN correctly!

I've been making sure that I get out in the afternoons while the weather is so good.

Today I decided to go to one of our large book stores ................ I've had a couple of gift cards for months that I thought I had better use. Gift cards do not have a time limit here in Canada .............. that's been forbidden by law, so I had no fear of "losing" the value. But I did want to get a book that came out a couple of months ago.

I was then given a "scratch card" as I entered the store ..... that could give me a minimum of 10% off my purchase

I found 5 paperback books and the pocket diary that OH likes ..................... and the cost was reduced from about $68 down to just over $16 by the time the gift cards and the scratch card were deducted.


Got home ......................... and found that she had only charged me for 4 of the books



so I shall have to go back tomorrow!


We had had a major problem, first of all with the machine where they swipe your credit card, which went to sleep and just sat there. Then that machine was saying everything was approved and my card had been charged ............. but the "till" was saying it hadn't been approved.

Even the manager was called in, but had never seen that happen before!!


I was so glad when it was decided that everything was OK that I did not check my receipt before I left the store.



Fortunately, the store is on the way to downtown, where I was planning to go tomorrow (errr ....... today!), so I can hop off the bus and back on again ................. I'll just be carrying a book and the diary that I didn't intend to take downtown!

sis-i-l has been released from the hospital, but has to stay in the town until Monday as they await the results ......... so she and her daughter have moved into a hotel.


and OH is off on a weekend trip with a coach-load of tourists. I guess I'll find out later whether it was a coach-load of Chinese tourists or of foreigners!

I was in my forties once aswell having a whale of a time clubbing, many foreign holidays, chasing young men....then I hit fifty :-(

OH is working hard!!

had problems with his first workshop .................

a) they weren't as literate in English as he'd been told they would be, and

b) he speaks too fast!

There were several there who had not officially registered for it ............ so he figured there would be drop in attendees the next day :-D



Haven't heard from sis-i-l since Wednesday evening. I expect I will hear when she has been released from the hospital and is installed in the hotel or B&B, whichever has room.
