Good morning everyone xxx
some rain around this morning
there is a light breakfast for the hungry ones
Toast (sourdough, rye, white, whole grain, 100% brown, Hovis), croissants, crumpets,
selection of jams, jellies
Tea, coffee, juices
(some bacon, turkey sausage or sausage patties, eggs, tomatoes, in the hidey place to cook up for the very hungry ones!)
I hope that will keep the pangs of hunger at bay while I prepare brunch

sorry about forgetting to make breakfast :-(
I've been working the last few days trying to make a story out of one of OH's family lines. Last night, I decided to try to start something similar on mine .............. and I got deeply involved in finding information on the villages they lived in, the churches, etc etc ............... and finally went to bed about 1 am, having forgotten brekkers!
So glad that Dea and Cyn found the store place, and kept the hungry hordes fed
This morning, I spent a little time on the dark side, then OH came home from his 7 day check-up after the op ............... and we went straight out. Been out most of the afternoon as well.
His eye is doing well, but there is a little "junk" left in there, so he has an appointment at 8 am the day after he arrives back from China!
right .......... out for Friday evening Japanese

NO Ginns - we sacrificed everything to send him to a good school as the one he was in originally was 'rubbish' !!
We were recommended to a local 'prep' school which was VERY expensive but we made a BIG effort and it was excellent so well worth it !!
This then led on to the 'Public School' which was also 'rubbish' and EXTREMELY expensive !! - c £20,000 per year !!!
He chose to change to the local college after a year or two where he was much happier !
I suppose, if it hadn't been for all that, we might have been 'almost' minted !!
We did work for it all though and saved every penny - came from a poor background and did the best that we could !

I cannot stand tyhe sound of pigeons Jonesey !!!
Any other bird makes a lovely sound but pigeons are just boring - du du der du der du, du du der du der du ................................. ad infinitum !!! :-( :-( :-(
My son attended a Public School for a while and used to stay from time to time with a 'classmate'.
This person lived on a stud farm and they also had many racing pigeons - some of which were worth millions each !!!!!
I can't imagine why anyone would find a pigeon worth SO much and I also can't imagine how they could cope with the noise that they all made !!! - I would have bought a gun and shot them !!! ;-)
Give me 'poverty' and 'peace and quiet' anytime !!!

Gin,
Should you happen to fail one of those assessments or reviews you may need to consider a new career. What do you think of this for a get rich quick idea?
Sell homing pigeons!!!
As soon as their new owner lets them out of their loft they should fly straight back to you and you can then sell them again. :-D
What do you reckon?

Ooooer! Wonder where our Sylvs is? She didn't say she was off anywhere did she?
We only have 2 smoke alarms - one up and one down. Mind you, out house is so small we don't need any more to be honest. Am still waiting for OH to sort out the Carbon wotsit detector I bought a couple of weeks ago........sigh.
Got to see the reservoir today :-D Well, he was in the car and couldn't get out unless I stopped - so off we went! Yep...pretty full so I can't see a hosepipe ban any time soon.
Our sky thingey went funny this afternoon and OH was really not coping with it very well so I asked son to please call in on way home from work. And......he turned it off ....and on again. That seemed to cure the problem! :-S
I can't believe that people are assessed over the phone Gins......how ridiculous indeed! :-0

Happy new windows Dea!
On the radio yesterday, an MP was speaking in the HoC arguing for two elderly ladies who had gone for a reassessment for the blue badge; the assessment was done over the phone!
Anyway, long story short, they were both turned down and the only change to their circumstances is......they are older and frailer than when they were given the badge
Ridiculous

Well, - just had 16 new windows put in (15 and a half really as one got broke so will have to have a new one next week :-D )
Hubby has decided to build a greenhouse so we have kept all the old glass panels and the greenhouse will hardly cost us anything at all ;-)
Have to go for an assessment on Tuesday for my Blue Badge Parking Permit (that was quick - I thought I would have to wait for ages), so fingers crossed please!
'IF' I get one, I am planning a trip to Dunholm Mill - I will be able to park on the double yellow lines right outside !!! - I am desperate for new sheets and towels.
Something to look forward to !!!

Those buddy beeps are enough to drive you mad Ginns !!
We have those smoke alarms all over the house and so when one starts to beep you are never quite sure which one it is.
At first they may beep only every other day so you can't just go to the one you think it is and wait for another beep to confirm it :-(
Then it gets more and more frequent and it can take several days to trace the culprit!
In the meantime, they wake you up in the night and generally have you chasing all around the house and getting VERY frustrated !!
My hubby says - 'they will save your life one day' !!! and I suppose he may be right!

Oooher, its not like Sylv to go awol :-S
Glad the gas is sorted without having to damage your kitchen Linds.
The radio had a news story on the other day. An elderly couple had been hearing a 'beep' in their house for a couple of weeks. The 'beep' got more regular and they still couldnt find it......
They smashed the house up in frustration :-0 And when someone came around to help, he went straight to a box, which had an unopened smoke alarm in it...battery dead!
Heres some Friday :-S :-0

Good morning all :-)
Wonder what has happened to Sylvs ?? I hope she is O.K. <3
Looks like you are going to need that apron Cynthis!
Can you make a starrt on the tea, coffee, juices, cereals and porridge please and I will throw on some eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes ?
I have brought some fresh danish pastries and croissants so I will set them out alongside the hot bread rolls, and platters of hams and cheeses!!!
That should feed the hungry ones when they arrive ;-)
We always make a great team <3
Thanks Cynths,
Dea Xxx
