That's a good idea! Perhaps I can find something similar for OH. Actually, he's just come and said he fancies a "fancy waistcoat" ............. sort of tapestry :-0

Linda .............. been through those, and stationery items, and little note books. :-D

I used to have a problem with FiL Sylvia. One of my successful presents were a couple of books of old photographs of Taunton where he was born. He spent hours looking at them.

Linda

Linda Report 13 Oct 2012 22:30

Sylvia we used to do adult Christmas stockings and it is hard. I used to put nail polish bath bombs hand cream, mini deoderant, hair gel and those big quality street chocs that you can get - the green triangle one.
Hope that gives you some ideas :-)

good ideas, guys!!

C .......... I'm the same about designer goods. I do not buy for the name.

I do like some designer makes, because their sizings fit me and feel comfortable on. BUT, I only buy them when they come on sale .......... preferably the season or year end sale, when they are on huge discounts.

I don't buy the"fashion of the moment", so it means nothing to me that I'm wearing last year's, or 10 year's ago, style!

Then we share a problem Sylvs.......mine is exceedingly hard to buy for. :-(

Glad he is 'coming round' though.... :-D

I know just what you mean Dea. I feel the same about 'designer' goods. I won't buy a product just because it has a certain famous name on it, I buy what I feel is right. In fact, one of the handbags my friend didn't want and I now have is, apparently a 'designer' bag.....don't ask me. I ain't a clue and care even less :-D

Buy him a 12 month 'Coffee shop voucher' Sylvs OR a 'meal out voucher' for that lovely restaurant that you go to !!

I've already done a lot of our Christmas shopping, and have the ideas for others.

I "buy when I see" ........ so I have been known to buy something in January just because I saw it, and thought it would be ideal for xxxxx

I also have my eyes wide open if we go on holiday to somewhere different, when I can pick up local handcrafts, pottery, etc.

Unfortunately, this has not been one of those years ................. and it's no good asking OH to keep his eyes open while he's in China ...... he's just not programmed to see those opportunities!

OH himself is the problem for me :-D :-D

He has everything, doesn't need anything, etc etc etc!

The other problem this year is that J&M also have Christmas stockings for everyone ............ we never had them for adults, and don't have them when we're on our own. BUT, we do have to join in with them. It's hard looking for stocking items that are not too junky!

Hi Dea

I've finally arrived :-D :-D

OH is doing fine .......... eye is still a little blurry, so he's not driving today. But he did walk down to our coffee shop, then over to the shopping area, and back home. Was out for about an hour.

Had to change his trousers when he got home because they had got so wet!!

I'm not that daft!!!!

It IS quiet Cynths !!

Just heard the news on the radio - someone has just paid £21 million for some painting or other !!!

That is quite disgusting when there are so many people in the world in need !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There - had my say !!!!!

It won't do any good but it gets it 'off my chest' !!

Dea, I've already got some in and I've taken to buying vouchers each time I go to the supermarket because I give quite a few as gifts. Saves leaving it all to the last minute. :-D

OOOhhh Cynths,

Wash yer mouth out with soap and water girl !! - Uttering those 'naughty words' at this time of the morning !!!!! :-0 :-0 :-0

My SIL always does her Christmas shopping in the January sales (for the following Christmas!) so she is always well ahead !

I did once try to be good and bought all my Christmas cards in about October - I wrote them all out, addressed them and stuck the stamps on ready ! Could I find them when they needed to be posted ?????????........... NO !!! :-S

I had to start all over again and eventually found them (in the 'safe place' where I had put them) around February !!!

I won't be doing that again ;-) :-D
