I've got lots of photographs. Many others disappeared, although one of my brother's daughters may have some of those.

but I have nothing written down, not even letters, from my parents or grandparents.

My word! That Thanksgiving lunch was spot on Sylvs.

The shrimps brought back many happy memories and the turkey just melted in my mouth. Thank you very much and a Happy Thanksgiving Day to you.

Many of us have so much to be thankful for, so it's nice to have a day for being grateful. :-D

Wasn't online for a bit because, during my sorting out of photos etc., I decided to move on to some memorabilia. I found a couple of old notebooks belonging to my dad and which he had turned into sort of diaries.

The first one was from 1934 and I've been immersed in his life then. He was just 20 years old and in the Salvation Army training to be an officer. He even recorded what he had to eat each day - quite a good diet really - and then, in 1936 when my mother came on the scene, he wrote of his love for her. Very touching and something I won't be parting with. :-) <3

Do hope all goes well for your son Dea............

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 7 Oct 2012 07:34

Thanks Sylvs.........a cold cereal for me this morning please.....it's 'that' busy day again. Well, the morning is anyway. ;-)

Have finally finished sorting my photos......sheesh.....what a job that was! I bought some special wallets which are acid free, to store the older photos in. They're not particularly cheap but they are sturdier and will protect the photos better.

Next job is to sort out some of the 'memorabilia' which I have from my parents. There is some I would never part with but I think it could be whittled down a bit. No more hoarding for me :-D

Enjoy your breakfast Dea..... ~~~~~
