My word! What a Monday morning menu to be greeted with - thank you Sylvs :-D

Now that you say it, I vaguely remember having heard about the cotton thread around the finger........and the fact that keeping the fingers erect has something to do with the blood flow doesn't it?

Glad you sorted your fig problem out girls.......made my Shepherd's pie sound sorta ordinary.... :-(

Will look at Evelyn's thread in a tick Linds.

Yes, it was very busy yesterday morning - absolutely manic in fact! I had hold of a lovely little baby very new - she had a tuft of hair which stood right up at the back of her head - it looked so cute.

We had 2 year old twin boys keeping their mum very busy at the back and, as she has two other children as well, she certainly has her work cut out. We had to get chairs out to supplement the pews... must have been 300 in I guess. And, as they poured out, the 12.30 baptism parties were trying to get in! Could have done with some traffic lights at the doors..... :-D

Had a visitor last night and, even though I had the laptop on my knee - I was showing him something from on the other side - I couldn't really do much.

Off to an autism meeting this morning - it's about housing so I am very interested on my daughter's behalf - for the future.

Will go and see about Evelyn now. ~~~~~~

To get off a wedding ring, or other ring when your finger has got a littl bit big

1) sit with your hand in the air for 20 minutes, with the finger(s) erect ............... elbow on the arm of a chair makes it more bearable

You can then try to remove the ring. If no success, continue with the next step ..........

2) Cut a piece of sewing thread, and wrap it 2 or 3 times around your finger just above the ring.

3) Wriggle the ring onto the thread.

Repeat steps 2) and 3) until the ring is over your knuckle and off your finger.

It worked for me after step 1, so I didn't have to move on to the next steps.

I'd previously tried soaking the finger in cold water, rubbing with soap and dish washing liquid, etc etc.
