My ex never wore his wedding ring....maybe I should have known it was'nt going to last.
I have been worrying about my half soveriegn ring I have worn since I was 18.
It has moved fingers over the years and its a bit buckled now, but has ended up on my wedding finger for the last year and was feeling a bit tight....Just managed to prise it off....now what shall I do with it? too big for little finger on left hand
Just stuck on my right hand little finger as thats bigger...see how it goes :-D
ja...x
Edit - Nope it just fell off :-(

Gins ..............
sorry to hear that JB has lost his wedding ring.
But how lovely of his mother to offer his Dad's ring.
I had never removed my wedding ring ................... but then I put on weight, my fingers also got larger, and the ring seemed as though it might become embedded .................. so I decided it needed enlarging.
But I then couldn't get it off :-0
I tried holding my finger under cold water, rubbing soap round my finger, etc etc .......... but the ring still wouldn't go past my knuckle
went into our little local jeweller, who told me what to do, assuring me "that always works"
It did!
I took the ring into him, and he stretched it just a bit, and I had it back on my finger within the week.

Dea!!! Tuts.......... ;-)
I had a similar phone call this week too.....they must be working overtime...somewhere or other :-D
That's a real shame about JB's ring Gins.......have you looked at the outside drain? Not being funny but, a few years ago, OH lost his ring and, you would never believe it but, coming in from the garage the next morning, I saw a glint and yes, there was the ring in the drain. It had presumably come off whilst he was washing his hands.
It's even worth checking the silliest places.....eg...the laundry basket ; the towels in the bathroom; all possible pockets; the vacuum cleaner.
I picked up my daughter a couple of weeks ago and one of her neighbours was sitting on the grass painstakingly going through his bin. He had lost his false tooth! arrrrghhh BUT he found it in the vacuum cleaner bag. :-0
My son has his gt.grandmother's ring as his wedding ring. She must have been a fair sized woman given the size of the ring.
When my mum died and the nurse took her wedding ring off and formalities were completed, I put it straight onto my little finger and it has stayed there since. It is absolutely tiny and quite thin.
OH is watching one of the Men in Black films.......what a load of.....????? The talking pug is quite funny though. :-D

Is there an 'F' involved Jonesey, or have I got that wrong??

Dea,
I am most impressed by your patience and concern when dealing with the person who called you from the Indian branch of "Vindows".
Personally if it had been me that he called I would have been very tempted to tell him to "Back-waahs-nand". (Hindi)
I will leave it to you to guess what it means. ;-)
|
It didn't happen Linds !! ;-) :-D :-D
Dea Xxx
|
Thanks Linds
I have kept looking all day, on and off........dont hold out much hope
But youre right, at least we'll have Jacks ring, and he meant the world to both of us
Where is the Boss......aka Cyns?

Gins - just playing catchup over the last couple of days threads. so sorry to hear that JB lost his ring! It is nice of his Mum to give him his Dads which will help a little. As you say its the sentiment part of losing something like that :-)
Dea - I had a little laugh re your impending explosion :-D :-D :-D
Off to bring in the washing cos its got really dull :-(
|
I said that the last time Ginns - I just wanted to have a little more 'fun' with this one ;-)

I had to read that twice Dea!

|
OOOOHHH DEAR !!!!!
I fear I may be leaving you soon !!! :-S :-( :-(
Just had yet another telephone call from Security section of 'Vindows' (The India branch ;-) )
They 'are receiving' very very many serious 'varnings' and error messages from my computer and it is in danger of iminent crashing or 'demolishioning' ???
I think I managed to reassure him that I did not have a problem with my computer so he could sleep soundly tonight without having to worry about me ;-) :-D :-D :-D
If I don't 'explode', I will be back later :-D

First in the queue LK!!
Dea's almost cleared the table :-D

What a lovely gesture by your MIL Ginns, - make sure you place this one on his finger, just as you did the first !
I remember in the very early years of our marriage, not sure exactly when, but I had vowed never to remove that ring!
Unfortunately, I had some slight dermatitis on my hands and it was irritated by my ring so I kept moving the ring further down my finger to revieve the itching.
It just 'had' to happen ! - One day, I moved it down too far and it fell off onto the floor - I was devastated and in tears 'till hubby came home - I would not put it back on myself as only he must return it to my finger for it to remain 'special' .
Sounds really silly now but at the time that was exactly how I felt :-)
Having his father's ring won't be exactly the same but I am sure it will be just as 'special' to you both.

Oh good.
First in the queue for Saturday brunch.
A little early I know but I usually miss it.
It should have been my lie in day today but I woke at 6.30am.
Drat those water tablets.
|
Thanks Dea....were both gutted
But, just been on Skype to mom (MIL) in Wales and she said JB can have his dads wedding ring. That will be lovely, as be both love and miss Jack and it will mean sooo much
:-D
|
Awww - that's SO sad Ginns - I know exactly what you mean about the 'sentiment' of it <3
I do hope you can find it - it could even be somewhere in the house as he could have lost it earlier and not noticed at the time!
I have the same trouble with mine since I lost a lot of weight - I found a very old cheap ring in my jewellery box from many years ago which is quite small so I have taken to wearing that after my wedding ring which prevents it from sliding off.
