Gins- to be fair we have been in the house for nearly 30 years and this is the first time we have had to pay for the roof (any previous damage was storm damage and covered by insurance)

I can remember having to pay the "factor" for repairs done on our flat extortionate!

Dea shame your not nearby my son does windows etc (didn't when we did ours he was still at school)

Ohh dear!! - Poor Shaun!! :-0 :-D

My windows have almost all gone like that now Cynthia - some are just 'misted' and some of them look like there is water pouring down inside them and I can't see out :-(

The problem is, I down want to have all new windows put in as that means all the rooms will need re-recorating and I don't see the point of new frames when the old ones are prefectly good but finding someone to just replace the glass panels seems to be a problem - they all want to do the complete windows! :-(

I know it is possible though and now they have got so much worse I will have to start looking again properly so that I can get them done before the winter starts .

Poor Linds, that's a lot of money - home repairs do not come cheap do they ? :-)


I think we will be looking towards new double glazing in the not too distant future. Some of it 'mists' in patches........... :-( We do try and get jobs done as and when a) they need doing and b) when we can afford it. Such is life...... :-S

Had to laugh at my grandson yesterday when I picked them up from school. He got into the back seat, took one look at the new Shaun the Sheep I have in the side window and went "aaaarrrrrghhhhhhh - that's gotta come down......." then he promptly slumped down in the seat and covered his head with his bag. It just wasn't 'cool' to be seen in a car with Shaun the Sheep peering out of the window you see!!!! I mean, what would one's mates think????? :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I have to go to the Cardiology department at the university hospital late morning ........ to be fitted with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor.


OH will take me, stay with me, then bring me home.


I presumably have to return on Thursday at about the same time.


On Friday, I will go early to have the fasting blood test.

.............but you have all the repairs to pay for, every year there is something


....roof, gutters. walls, fences etc etc............

We have had to get work done on our roof nearly £1000 ouch

My Dads Great Dane lasted to nearly 14 that breeds average lifespan is 8-9 years

Gins, I think you will find that, like humans, if dogs are given a sensible diet there is the possibility that they will live longer. Doesn't always work that way though.

I would presume it would be better to buy a digital keyboard because piano's need regular tuning ???

BUT - I really don't know !!

Grand-daughter has just started piano lessons at school and if she takes to it she will need a piano or a 5 octave or more digital keyboard :-S

Does anyone know what I am talking about or can advise me as to what to look out for?
