Does this mean that you have 3 cars all of which needed a new exhaust at the same time? What a coincidence. ;-)

My little old car has more than doubled it's value today!

I have just had a new exhast fitted - cost £66 so I reckon that as my lovely car is 23 years old now - the exhaust is probably worth mor than the car :-D :-D ;-)

It drives all quiet again now - the hole in the exhaust made it sound like a plane about to take off :-D

Have put a complaint in and asked for a refund on my card (I paid online). Cheapskate that I am.......

I dont know where I am with the Royal Mail these days....different sizes/prices etc....

They must make a mint with the extra charges (admin) they make for mail like you had and also people putting far too many stamps on as they dont know exactly how much it should be

There is a restaurant not too far from here which has ostrich, wild boar and kangaroo meat on it's menu. They are also famous for their mixed grill - it's massive!



Had a note the other day to say that an item was waiting for me at the sorting office as the sender had not paid enough postage. Price to pay? £1.12p.

It arrived this morning. Just an ordinary Christmas card from my cousin in Buckinghamshire. First class stamp - fits through my letter box with no problem - no enclosures.


WHY DID I HAVE TO PAY THEN?????

Actually it sounds similar to a bruschetta I make... and eat...

And I did do food that you could eat on the barbie... just didn't have any beans... but there were plenty of herbs on the window sill you could have helped yourself to.. variety of breads and lots of scrummys...

I don't eat a lot of meat now Gins.. but fish is something I love..

I was brought up on meat and three or four veg (from my dad's garden)...

I didn't know one ate armadillo (they are so cute) ... I must ask my friend when she comes over in April ... she lived in Texas for a long time but is now in New Mexico... originally from Birmingham (not Alabama) she is a Brummie... you get a mixture of accents from her. Her husband was a US sea captain and they lived all over the world but she still considers herself to be a Brit and has a British Passport.

When you were in Texas did you try Armadillo (Texas speed bumps)? I saw it available but never plucked up the courage to try it.

On the subject of goats, my sister's house had a large unkempt triangle of land at the end of her "Formal" garden. My brother in law thought that the answer to keeping the vegetation in check there would be to buy a goat and tether it there. What he failed to remember is that goats will eat just about anything including rope tethers. Needless to say his goat did just that and unnoticed decided to decimate his beloved Rose bushes.

When I ran my secondhand bookshop, I had one customer who liked cooking books for on the yacht or travel... I had this book from Canada and in it there were Moose recipes and they weren't chocolate mousse... and how to cook bear.. eg Bruin steaks.
I sold him that and a cajun book which had alligator recipes.

I buy venison burger patties (much better than an ordinary mince pattie). We also get venison from time to time from my son-in-law who goes hunting regularly.

Unlike Australia possum are a pest here as are wild goats and so they shoot them but they leave them behind ..thanks goodness. We are not from the Beverly Hill Billies so I am not about to eat possum.

I have eaten wild duck, muscovy duck and goose but don't think I have ever had an egg laid by a goose.

Aussie is the place for some great seafood.. love their Moreton Bay bugs and Yabbies... That's the only place where I have seen and eaten curried scallop pie (Tasmania)

I don't know whether they still serve it but when Ikea first opened in the UK they used to serve Reindeer in their in store restaurant. I tried it once but found it a bit tough. I have eaten Alligator (Also tough) in Florida but I cannot ever recall seeing Turtle steaks on a menu.

Some years ago I, along with a group of shooting buddies we stayed several times at a clay shooting venue, Clifford Farm in Devon. The chap who managed the site was also responsible for managing the deer on a large estate nearby. As a result there was always venison on the menu. The farm had a large flock of Geese so the breakfast menu there also included the option of a Goose egg to go with your bacon.
