I have downloaded 12 free books [until I get my account set up on Amazon] including Mrs Beeton's Household Management!!! It is wonderful! - gives you guidance on hiring staff, who to have as friends etc etc + cooking!! I hope to learn quite a few tips from it!

I love watching people open presents too.

Frankie Howerd is on the TV.......you forget how funny he was - in a double entendre - silly sort of way. Very predictable though :-D

Was going to catch up with the ironing this morning but had a visitor...ah well, it's still there waiting for me.

I am going off to visit the grandchildren in a minute - they want to show me all their other new toys!!

It really is VERY slow on here and I am not truly convinced it will improve very significantly!

Anyway - enjoy the day - I will catch up with you in a couple of hours.

Actually Cynths - I told a 'little fib' about that knife - It is my husband who always carries one of those in the car - very useful it is too.

It has spanners and screw drivers and al sorts of gadgets on it !! - Even a teeny weeny pair of scissors which fold out and really work. - It is amazing - he has had it for many many years.

However, I do have a little foldy-up stainless steel one which it very intricately designed and very pretty. I bought it in Toledo, Spain, which is a very famous place for steel.

I always had it with me when I was away on my trips so that I could slice up my little snacks of manchego cheese, bread rolls and chorizo sausage and salad etc. to munch in my Hotel room while I was waiting for Dinner.(They eat very late over there!) ;-)

The little mini bars in 'my' Hotel rooms were always well stocked with my tasty morsels. :-D

Good morning our little Rambo Dea - please put that knife away - it scares me somewhat.... :-D

I really must stop idling about.......haven't hoovered for days!

A few days off and I go all to pot!

One - two - three - HUP..........

I don't eat grits either... we don't normally see them here either. It is very much a Southern State (USA) food.

Have recently seen polenta grits (think they called it something else).

I do like polenta cake or polenta toast with garlic mushrooms on it.
