Hi, there's a tree on Ancestry (yours?) that has her spouse as Frederick Yarobud Alvis Malschinger, Birth 1833 in Nemecky, North Bohemia, Czech Republic. I'm not sure if he was actually her husband? |

I think this is her in the 1891 census but her age is transcribed as 37 instead of 57. It also says she IS married:- |

HI MARIE CELESTE, YES, THAT IS MY TREE. IT WAS ALWAYS ODD TO ME THAT ANN JANNET WAS STILL ALIVE, YET ROSINA WAS DOWN AS HIS SPOUSE. IT SEEMS THAT AFTER HIS DEATH SHE ONCE AGAIN BOARDED AND WENT BACK TO NURSING, SHIPSMATE |

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LATER CENSUS ,I FOUND OUT THAT SHE WAS A NURSE THAT WAY AND SHE AND MARY WERE BOTH ON IT.OF COURSE , NOW I CAN'T FIND IT!! THE NAME MALSCHINGER WAS BROUGHT TO THE U.K. BY 2 BROTHERS IN THE 1800'S AS FAR AS I KNOW, WHICH IS WHY I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT SOMEONE FROM KENT WAS ALSO A MALSCHINGER. SHIPSMATE. |

As MarieCeleste says, the image of the 1861 census could well say Washington for Mary Ann's surname. It certainly doesn't seem to have the right letters to be Malschinger (there doesn't seem to be an "l" before the "s" or a "c" between the "s" and the "h". |
