Hi
I have traced a Robert Watt/Wait back to his burial in 1845 I know he was married in 1791
Makerstoun, to a Elizabeth Mason , They had 4 sons all born in Kelso, their could be another son but the name on the birth doesn't quite match.

The info I have regarding Robert & Elizabeth is from one of the sons death certificate,
Their is mention that he was a Postillion??? for Sir Henry Hay McDougal in 1792
and in 1794 a deputation to games keepers and still with Sir Henry Hay McDougal

I found Robert on the 1841 census aged 77 in Kelso and it leads me to believe he was born in Kelso.

Then found his death in 1845 on scotlandspeople which says he was buried in Kelso churchyard ground N851 Plot N1

If any one out there lives in Kelso or knows how to get info I've tried Boarders, and a few other places I'd like to know where or Who to get in touch with in Kelso that could tell me if their is an inscription for the death or grave
with out this I can't go any further back

Thank you Sylvia

Rootschat.com is your best for Kelso M--Inscription they have a Roxburgh board and someone on there has a list of Rosebank cemetery headstone inscriptions,,,,they have a selection of board for the different regions in Scotland.

you will need to register and create a name.

Sylann -
is this is your post on the Borders Family History Society website?

http://www.bordersfhs.org.uk/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=794

I know nobody has responded to your post there so far , but then you were asking for his parents' names.

A different request for someone to look in the cemetery for you might be worth a try.
