Searching for death of Thomas Stow born on 15th November 1891 Ulverston Lancashire. Parents William Stow and Ellen....Is in 1911 census age 19 with Parents in Barrow in Furness Occupation Carpenter Labourer. Stow is sometimes spelt Stowe as in 1911 census Thank you Pam

He is of the age to have served in WW1

Thank you to everyone helping. Still having no luck in finding his death. I have a copy of his birth certificate so know it is 15th November 1891 . Will keep trying Thanks Pam

Surprisingly, in UK forces, no Thomas (or T) Stow's died in WW1, and only one Thomas (or T) Stowe, husband of MJN Stowe of 1 Bury Street, Newport Pagnell, Bucks, but he was born in Stewkley, Bucks.

if this thomas was 47 years in december 1938 would make him born 1891

There was a Frank Stowe/Stow 1893- died 1948 in leeds.

In 1911 Both Thomas and Frank worked for Vickers who had factories in leeds.
Could this be a connection??

That is strange Mary because I was looking at an Ena Stowe on 1839 as a possible widow for that Thomas and this is the transcription:

However, when you click to look at the image the above people are not showing but there is a Frank Stowe b 11/5/1893, Landscape Gardner there who is not on the transcription and I can't get him up on a name search ??

it is not surprising that you only found the 2 Stowe's .............. I did find a couple more in the T's in the medal rolls when I looked last night.

But there are only about 30% of the service records still in existence, and the medal cards and medal rolls are singularly uninformative if you don't know somebody's service number or regiment!

Buried 23/9/1939 of 24,Shelbrook View leeds.Says son of Frank.

On Military records for Frank,he enlisted 16/11/1914 it states age as 21 years 301 days so that doesn't = 11/5/1893.

When you look at above info it has Ena birthdate as 11/5/1893 the same as for Frank so maybe a mistake somewhere.

Francis Stowe a contactors foreman son of William married Violet lund a spinster in leeds 31/3/1923.

Norman Francis Stowe Leeds 1929-2000 in Canada.

Seems Ena / Violet Lund are one in the same.
Charles Henry Hewitt married 1879 to Annie Milthorpe
1911 census has Charles and Annie no children with ena Hewitt adopted daughter.

A tree has Ena as Violet lund born Leeds 1900?? needs checking.
1901 Violet lund adopted daughter of Charles Henry and Annie Hewitt so looks correct.She was born July 1899 leeds.
