Funny you should mention Cunningham.......

I was looking for Georgina, Nesta and Olga's births last night. Nesta and Olga were easy to find but the only birth for a Georgina M in Manchester was the following:

Births Mar 1892
Cunningham Georgina Mary N Manchester 8d 238

Also, Ruth and Ellen J are both born in Aldershot. Makes me think they are the same person.

As Rose has said we need to know the names of the parents on the cert you received.

If the date matches with your grandad's then it has to be the one.

Can you list the parents and occupations from the cert?

Not sure what you mean by they sent you "108". There's no 108 to be sent.

What was the date of birth on the one you received?

Hi Fred,

The birth cert you have could possibly be the one I posted as I have just checked the image and it could be 108. There is no other birth registered for Frederick Hamilton 8b 108.

Do you have his marriage cert and his death cert? The death cert may give his actual birth date.

Sometimes family stories are not always correct. Can you check on the sister or half sister Olga?

My g gran had her 10 children (born between 1901 and 1924) in the workhouse, as the doctor was free!!!
Also, by 1900, some workhouses had a 'proper' hospital, separate from, but within the grounds of the workhouse.
