wild guesswork????

I was looking for information on ancestry when I found the following Public Tree ........ I thought that I had exact match ticked. Apparently not, because this appeared, the name I entered had one surname in common, ........................

Madness, isn't it?
He really lived a very long life !!

The sadness is that people wildly copy such information just because they find a link to one of the names.

If I was setting out my tree on there, I'd want to check and re-check my information before I made it public.

This same 'tree' crops up quite often when I do searches as well. Even with exact search.

I've come across that tree several times, they have one person that has thousands of sources added.

I honestly think it's someone taking the mickey.

I tried to look at the tree but got a message to say Ancestry couldn't find it - maybe due to technical difficulties or maybe the person has removed it.
