This is a family tree I am making but need to know if I am correct .John Morgan born 1807 and Thomas Morgan 1808 are brothers as I have the same parents names . But did John move to Montgomery and start a new branch of the family with Gwen Lloyd , or have I got the wrong one . The census doesn't start until 1847 so they may not be still alive and there is not much information on the 1847 census anyway . How can I find out if the John Morgan who married Gwen is the one from Peterston Just worked out the ages as I was typing this .I think he may be too young .

Yes .That is the family , but I cannot trace John on the later census in Glamorgan or Montgomery except for the one married to Gwen Lloyd .
I did notice the spelling.. Peterston is spelt without the final E on the baptism records from Find my Past . The second record is the marriage of the parents of John and his brother Thomas . the spelling of Coity has changed as well .

I have come down the wrong branch . I am looking for the family of Thomas Morgan . born 1854 in Llanwnog Montgomeryshire with parents Elizabeth Owen born 1827 and and Thomas Morgan born 1823 This doesn't fit with what I have . . Starting Again .

Thanks .That looks like it. I couldn't find a Thomas Morgan with a Mother Elizabeth . that's wrecked my link up with the family in Peterstone. I did try this last year and gave up . but thought Id have another go .

This is where I've gone wrong . This Census from1871 also has a Thomas Morgan born in1855 and children John and Jane and Elizabeth ,but the dates don't match.

is it possible that Thomas senior could have died by 1871, and the children are all out in service?

I have a Members family tree from a Powys site . Which is where I found the Thomas I'm trying to trace It gives the fathers date of Birth as Thomas Morgan About 1823 and mother Elizabeth Owen as 27/5/1827. So the fathers date would be correct . . Could Sarah be his second wife? :-|

and the marriage you've found for Thomas to Sarah happened in 1851

Hi Sylvia . You have the right Thomas Morgan that I'm looking for .but the census gives his fathers birthdate as 1815. On the family tree I found it is 1823.but he is married to Elizabeth Owen born in1827 , Thomas Morgan born 1854 married twice first wife Mary Jane Davies married 1873 . second wife Alice Stubbs married 1879
