Many thanks Jan - I had found the other roads mentioned and I think I've found it right at the edge of an old parish map - it ran north off Quaker Street, now appears to be a patch of land for development.

Did you notice the mention of Hanbury St 1911? This still exists, as does Grey Eagle st, which is also nearby on 1881 census.

Looking at 1881, it seems to be near Quaker St - this still exists and can be found on Googlemap.

I know that there are several sites detailing old London streets and maps etc. but I seem to be having a bit of a blind spot with this one! I have a death in 1866 in Queen Street, Spitalfields and it seems that this became Rowland Street at some point. However I have no idea where, on a present-day map, it might have been. Any ideas???? :-D
