Atkinson / Dickenson link, if Thomas B (senior)'s mother was indeed Isabella, as in Mary's post above:

So Martha Jane was Thomas B's half-sister. (see 1891 census in previous post)

Don't know if Annie Atkinson in my previous post is any relation or not. It's quite a common name - maybe just coincidence that Martha Jane worked for her.

Philippa - just because your relatives are named as her executors, it doesn't necessarily mean that they were also her heirs. They were presumably people who she trusted to carry out her last wishes

You sometimes see a Bank or a Solictor named as an Executor!!!

Thanks. It looks like she left her money to my great grandfather and great uncle, so there must be a family connection somewhere. I'll do a bit of hunting around when I've got more definite information on closer relatives; meanwhile, if anyone else recognises her as a relative, they are welcome to any info I have.

Tried that but there is nothing that fits their details. I'm guessing they must be some kind of relative as it is the original certificate with the old stamps on, not a modern copy. Maybe I'll turn up a link later on.

Try looking on search trees to see if anyone has either in their trees.

The cert may be welcome to them

Hi,

I have a marriage certificate of Thomas William Hudspeth and Martha Jane Dickenson in the parish of St Chad, Gateshead in 1920. No idea why it is in our family papers and I have never heard of them, but thought I would put the details here In case it is of use/interest to anyone else!
