It has been a few years since I did any research so I am a bit out of touch.

If I am trying to trace a death after 1970 what is the best online site to use?

There are quite a few but most people on here use either Findmypast or Ancestry.

If you give the name of the person and where you think the death took place someone will look for you.

Thank you.

Are both are subscription sites?

The person I am looking for at the moment I do not know where they died, I was hoping to cross reference with the age at death.

Yes, both subscription sites John.

As Kath has said, if you give us his name, year and place of birth someone with a sub will have a wee look for you.
