Burial Record - can't find death

The burial was on the 7 June 1882. Whoever transcribed it didn't notice that half the page was for 1881 and the bottom 5 were for 1882.

Death could only be registered after inquest, so burial could well be before registration, if permission had been given.
Even so there seems to be a huge discrepancy in this case.

Ring the Glos record office they will do a look up for you & for a small charge e-mail a copy to you

Thanks everyone - looks like it's the 1882 cert. Her burial record has a note re coroner and I have looked in the newspaper archives but there's no Glos papers 1880-1884 - typical :-D

I would say this was it but don't know why it would take so long to register her death.

Ah right! Looking at it, there are burials for 1881 and 1882 on the same page. The last 5 entries are for 1882..

I've found a burial record for Harriet Hughes (Jun 1881 Coberley, Glos) and want to order the death certificate but I can't find the entry on Ancestry. Am particularly intrigued as she was 37 and was only married a couple of weeks beforehand. Are there gaps on Ancestry?
