Mother's name on birth certificate

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

lavender Report 15 Mar 2015 19:27

I have a birth certificate. The child's name is Dorothy Wright, b 1930 Glasgow

The father is Shaw Lefevre Wright, Dock Labourer

The mother is Amy Gladys Wright b 1893 Bristol. They married 1924.

Immediately below the mother's name it suggests the mother's maiden name is
M.S. Webber. I am confused since I expected the maiden name of Webber, but why are the initials M.S.?

The two other children's births, Marjory Wright 1927 Glasgow and

Violet Wright b 1924 are registered with the mother's name appearing in the same way.

Not sure what I am not getting, please?

Thank you very much, Gins.

That's a real 'doh' moment, Beverley. Many thanks. I knew it would be something simple!.. :-)

That must be another Shaw Lefevre Wright as that one is born too late, Gins. Mine was married in 1924.

I am not desperate as will be able to find out birth and death on this guy.

Unless it's his child which would be a surprise?

Many thanks.

Thank you Beverley, that is definitely the death.

I am told he did come from Ireland alviegal, so that is a very interesting find! I will look into that one.

Many thanks, both.

edit* Yes, that is the correct family :-) :-)
