Catherine Higgins married John Lavin in 1889 in Philadelphia USA iam trying to find the names of their parents as her death cert is blank.

John Lavin died in Philadelphia in 1903 is there a record for him again need his parents if no marriage found

There is a family tree on ancestry, but it has unknown father and unknown mother for both of them

As it is a Catholic marriage, that may be the reason that little can be found.

Thank you for your reply, Its a shame no parents names listed as makes it harder to find where in Co Mayo she was born, this was the only note on the Nat Papers that gave a County, her death cert have parents unknown.

This is the only Co Mayo birth showing on irishgenealogy.ie for a Catherine Higgins in 1864.

However, the DOB isn't the same as on Catherine Lavin's naturalisation record, so it's probably not her - unless Catherine wasn't sure about her DOB:

The birth of a Catherine Higgins Mayo 1864 parents Thomas and Bridget Mullany, she married in 1897 in same Townland.

Looks like only DNA matches to the family in Ireland will trace the Townland she came from.
