I have had a DNA match to the descendants of Jessie Russell
Family Rumour that John Wilson killed his first wife and escaped to Canada.
I would like to build my tree on fact not rumour - Any info on court dates or on John, Wilson his first wife Flora and especially Jessie Russell

The only way to get court details is to check newspapers for newspaper articles.
If John disappeared before being arrested there won’t be a court case anyway. The first wife’s death certificate should tell you what she died from. You won’t get coroner reports either.

Jessie is on one tree on here apart from yours Look at Search/ all members trees. She is also on more than 30 trees on Ancestry,
John is on two other trees on here

Do some research using Scotlands People website. You don’t appear to have determined whether a marriage to Flora took place, or when/where she died.
How could he have ‘escaped to Canada’ but married - allegedly for the second time - in Glasgow?

There is no record of her having married John Wilson.
John is listed as unmarried on all the censuses before his marriage to Jessie.

1861 census which I posted above has Jessie's mother as Margaret Whitecross.

There is a pretty well documented tree on ancestry with this family and lots of pictures icluding one of Jessie. It says this
Alexander Russell and Margaret Whitecross were NOT married. They had two children, Mary and Jessie, out of wedlock.
It also has this for Flora's death.
