marriage, possibly in Finningley around 1822ish between Thomas WILKINSON and Ann GREEN. _____________________________________________________ Hi Jenny Unfortunately, I cannot see a marriage for Thomas WILKINSON and Ann GREEN. I can, however, see a number of children born to Thomas WILKINSON and Ann: Sarah - 26/10/1823 Joseph - 20/8/1825 Ann - 24/9/1826 Charlotte - 2/9/1838 Thomas - 3/10/1841 All dates are baptismal in Finningley. Father's occupation is given as Labourer and abode as Awkley. The 1841 census suggests either more children or other relatives, so this may need some more investigation: Ann Wilkinson abt 1801 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Charlotte Wilkinson abt 1838 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Hannah Wilkinson abt 1821 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Martha Wilkinson abt 1835 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Mary Wilkinson abt 1831 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Sarah Wilkinson abt 1826 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Susannah Wilkinson abt 1841 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Thomas Wilkinson abt 1801 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire Thomas Wilkinson abt 1841 Nottinghamshire, England Finningley Nottinghamshire

Hi Judith In the period you mention, I have a number of Welbournes in Bingham (don't know if that is close to Thurgarten). They are: Ann - 1805 Sarah - 1808 Harriet - 1809 Mary - 1811 Elizabeth - 1813 John - 1816 John - 1818 Mary - 1820 John - 1823 All dates are baptismal. The parents are Thomas & Charlotte. Father's profession is labourer. Presumably, there are multiple Johns due to death in infancy. The last John is listed as Welbourn. Altogether, I have 36 Welbournes listed (with or without the 'e' at the end from 1766 - 1901. I only have 4 Whelbands, all after 1864.

Hi, I was wondering if you could do a look up for me. I have a John Whelband b1820 in Thurgarton. Although, when his children were baptised their names were recorded as Welbourn. Could you see if there are any Whelbands or Welbourns in Thurgarton around that time. I would love to know if he has any siblings or the name of his parents. Thanks Judith

Charles Report 26 Mar 2007 18:42

Julie I have found the baptism of Caroline but, other than that, can find no record of Samuel elsewhere. Also, Caroline is the only child listed. Is it possible that they were not in Notts at the time?

Matthew I don't see any siblings. Was the mother's maiden name Pitchfork?
