The oldest person in the village is Glad, she is 96, still very active, lives at the other end of our row of houses and was one of the Wednesday sausage sandwich gang.

The other night that furniture advertizement featuring the Dave Clark Five 'Glad All Over' was on the television.

Fred's mate happened to mention that, when the record came out, certain young men in the village and he named them, would delight in singing that they were ' feeling Glad all over' to her.

Hard to picture those sedate grandfathers, who are all around seventy now, doing that!
