Scotland and England both have Adoption Contact Registers.

Depending where her children were born, has your husband added his name to the relevant ones?
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register for England and Wales
http://www.birthlink.org.uk/ for Scotland.

Brenda, It won't matter if you leave the dates for the children as long as you are sure they were adopted, but you should remove Rachel's exact DOB.

I am trying to find Rachel Herbert. She was born in 1954 in Stranaer, Scotland. Her maiden name was MacDonald. She married a James Patrick Haveron from Nothern Ireland (1951) and had 2 children (my son-in-law was one of them, James born 1977. He had an older sister Rachel Christina born 1975). She went on to have a relationship with George Macmillan Foy and had another son George John Haveron/Foye born 1979). She had another two children Rebecca Ann Louise McDonald born 1988 and another son Christopher David John James McDonald born 1984). She married again to a Frederick E Herbert in 1991 and was living at that time in Portsmouth. My son-in-law would love to be put in touch with his birth mother or any of his siblings. All of the children were adopted so they are difficult to trace. Please get in touch if you think you can help.
